I'm attempting to create an investment research website that will help the masses research investment options, without worrying about misunderstanding financial terminology. Our mission is to not only provide the most information and resources for individual investors to research investments, but to fight for more transparency in the financial markets.

shalbert··on Alibaba's Jack Ma Has: $30B and No Coding Skills
I never knew much about him but, after reading this article, I will go so far to say that I think he may be one of the most inspirational entrepreneurs of our time. Potentially, on the level of Steve Jobs
shalbert··on Hacker Gang 'Lizard Squad' Took Down PlayStation Network and Xbox Live
Lizard Squad seems to be just a bunch of attention seeking jerks. Taking down a system for the sake of gaining Twitter followers and retweets is not cool, and much less productive than what their potential has to offer
shalbert··on A system that pours a glass of wine without opening the bottle
If you're not a wine enthusiast, this simply doesn't seem like a product worth anybody's time of day. However, it must be noted that this is an excellent idea for wine preservation. Just think about how great it must be to save an expensive bottle from needing quick consumption before it experience's the perils of too much oxygen.

shalbert··on Bitcoin Promoter Gets 2 Years for Silk Road Money Laundering
Unfortunately the answer is simple: "Too big to fail" I wish things were better justified than that, but they seemingly are not.
shalbert··on Ask HN: Do you think Sony made the right decision?
I doubt it purely based on the fact that the movie was supposed to be released at the movie-profit climax of the year. If they really wanted to make money from it, they would have done it at any other point in the year and released it on the christmas date it just had cancelled
shalbert··on Snapchat Responds to Leak
Captivating response. It gives you a glimpse into understanding why his employees want him as their leader

shalbert··on How to Get a Job in Algorithmic Trading
The financial industry is necessary for the progression of any industry these days, but you must acknowledge the fact that most leaders of the financial industry don't care about externalities. They are only interested in making money both for themselves and their companies'.
shalbert··on How to Get a Job in Algorithmic Trading
Honestly, if you're interested in helping people with algorithmic trading, the startup I'm working on right now would be perfect for you. Although the pay won't be nearly as great as it would be if you were to work in a big firm, the opportunity to use algorithmic trading while not having to submerge your conscious is something I find more important and it's viable.

If this movie went to theatres, it would hit $1B because how fucked up this situation is.

shalbert··on Google Is Going Through a Rough Transition
Who knows, maybe this rough period is just prelude to a big boom from their products they're always getting press on. Either way, I love Google and, almost certainly always will
shalbert··on The largest vessel the world has ever seen
That whole comment was a mistake. I completely missed the point's of the article.
shalbert··on Amazon Not as Unstoppable as It May Appear
I don't think anybody can predict Amazon's future. There still isn't enough competition. Once another brand can be recognized as equally trustworthy as Amazon is, maybe there will be a chance for it's demise. However, the Fire Phone fail will definitely not expedite that potential process
shalbert··on The largest vessel the world has ever seen
The timing of this debut is hilarious to me. So, they build the largest boat to increase the exportation of oil but, simultaneously the need for oil is diminishing. I don't care what forecasters have to say because, at the end of the day oil prices will definitely continue to sink. It may go up for a while, but it surely will sink. Renewable energies are taking their market by storm and destroying the need for the anti-green oil industry. For example, India, a country that in theory could add extremely large value to oil, is one of the fastest growing renewable energy markets in the world. Not to mention, other countries with a smaller potential demand are doing the same. I love the idea of "the new biggest ship", but it's purpose humours me
