semicolondev··on 5 minute fork
Liked it. For ease of use it'd be more handy when one does't swap but adds: (the way you PWN YouTube)

Eg.

https://github.com/reidrac/canvas-raycasting (repo)

https://5mgithub.com/reidrac/canvas-raycasting (Doable??)

Or just 'f' for fork:

semicolondev··on What they don't tell you about being a game developer
"I like eating varieties of foods... I would open a restaurant!" I'm getting hit by this thought regularly. What'll be your take on this Patrick?
semicolondev··on Show HN : Mero Campus - Education meets social networking
Clikable: http://www.merocampus.com

In case anyone don't know: Mero (NP) == My (EN)

Happy to see one more product in Nepal from a fellow HNer. Good luck with it.

semicolondev··on Ask HN: Good Hackathon Prizes
Glad to know about Khukuri being gifted in SF CrowdHack - i'm from Kathmandu, Nepal. There are other popular items from Nepal like Wooden/Brass Baghchal boards, Buddha statue from Lumbini, Mt. Everest souvenir, Pokhara scenery, Himalaya Range Scenery souvenir that'd be great gift to anyone who knows or somehow heard about Nepal :)

Hope you could win one :)

semicolondev··on Ask HN: how to find a good mentor?
Good look on your search.

It's always nice to sit/talk with people who are more experienced than you in a particular subject of interest. My wish.

semicolondev··on Ask HN: How much of your product/project is your own code?
For a fairly quickly implementable web product logic (include basic auth, profiles, blogs, dynamic pages - they don't count to main logic, however are necessary), I usually end up writing ~40% of the code, remaining is code-reuse or available in choice of development framework or at some corner of github.
semicolondev··on Ask PG:Let us know when someone has replied to a comment?
I will not strongly favor a notification mechanism, I like hn because I consume this website and not the opposite. Notifications kind of create an urge to respond quickly which may not be necessary in most cases. However, adding optional setting in profile page would respect both who want to be notified and those who don't.
semicolondev··on Show HN: Twitter bootstrap form builder.
Nice.

Have you shared the code somewhere ?

Namaste!

Most tech work here is offshore development for US and UK. I've been observing tech sector in Nepal since last 5-6 years and in recent years have seen improvements in tech use/acceptance too. For the entrepreneurial growth we lack people to invest on ideas. For eg. take this project, I don't know how far would I be able to run this project with my own budget.

We have resources, environment but most students or even entrepreneurial folks would want out of Nepal. I can't say about others but I won't be leaving, i see lots of things doable here.

semicolondev··on Ask HN: Tumblr or Posterous
We use Tumblr for group/team posting in our day to day blog. (http://d2d.semicolondev.com)

Tumblr is better when bunch of guys want to maintain a single/quick/intuitive (as you said) blog.

semicolondev··on Ask HN: Your tips on working getaways across the globe
Come to Kathmandu, Nepal.

Your laptop will run smooth here. Internet connection varies from Kbps to Mbps - depends on how much you would spend. Delicious Nepali food (Daal, Bhat), guest loving culture and friendly people. What else would you look for ?
