The most laughable quote: "Facebook builds nothing, manufactures nothing, creates nothing."
This guy wants Amazon and Google to be nationalized on another article, sure that will solve all these problems.
I feel bad giving this guy views.

It just doesn't happen that much on the desktop any more. It's still up to you if you want to use the software from adobe.com or the "Gimp cloud" on your home server.
This could even be an opportunity, because giving a link to non-technical users is easier than installing software locally. In that sense it could close a gap that existed previously.
Edit: I just think I should've googled that first.
You have to see that in context, this was before the second world war and he wasn't aware that in the future you can manipulate/analyze genes.
Today he would probably just be an advocate for that kind of technology.
Definitely not an easy topic, but also not black and white.
Maybe there is more from him, but your source indicates an opinion like that.
Telcos wanna deny it but it's close to a commodity. This is mostly money shifting around. When was the last time they introduced a game changer? Google Fiber is something else, it's simply 50 times faster than the average Internet connection.
The real target were the feed subscribers, or maybe they are where can I check the data?
The same goes for Youtube, how many visitors did they have? They bring in the ad revenue.
Compared to Facebook/Whatsapp where you can usually only participate by being a user.
Also sometimes you have to maintain code, so it's not a choice.
There are always explanations that are helpful. You have to know about the pitfalls to be able to avoid them.
The questions just make you study the examples and also it's more fun this way.
The really nasty bugs come exactly from examples like these. This can save you hours at some point, I had to find some of them the hard way.
Even if you don't code, you could plan the whole concept, user your super familiar framework and there is a huge difference to the "spirit" of just developing the concept on the spot.
I don't want to say I dislike hackathons in general, but not for huge prices. Just meeting interesting people and trying to build something together is the really valuable part.
It really compiles, so you don't have to worry about it. The languages are so similar that stuff that is fast in Dartium will work pretty fine in JS.
Java and C# are both well designed server side languages. C# has the simple advantage of being younger and learn from Java in the real world.
JavaScript in the real world is not even close to Dart. JavaScript is currently trying to solve problems Java never had to begin with.
In almost every category Dart is technically superior. Shouldn't be a surprise, they took their time and learned from more than a decade of dealing with JavaScript. They are also not done yet, they are planning to inject binary code directly into memory.
Just look at Lars Bak's history, he is the right guy to create the Java/JavaScript successor for the web.
It's okay, but nothing compared to HN or Reddit.
That sounds just condescending to me.
What is the problem with a < 4kb runtime and some browser hacks?
Do you know how much code this is for a runtime and how many browser incompatibility issues this solves.
but it has the positive side effect that we prepare ourselves for Peak Oil what will happen anyway.
It is a running business, he pitched his company, that he has thousands of customers already. I heard the guy did the same at other hackathons in Berlin.
The Technical guy was a professional who knew from the beginning what he had to do, we spent half the time developing a concept.
I probably take it out once I am out of development so all the route methods stay untouched.
Changed it
By trying to be everything at the same time, they become cluttered and complicated.
I also think they were waiting to show their big toys out on the street. Armored vehicles for a 19 year old without military training and equipment?
But we are blessed compared to the rest of the country.
Our genius federal government built the infrastructure first and then created a private monopoly who owns all of it. The worst of both worlds. The funny thing is they bought with all the money an US provider and are now the underdog over there.
finally something that every web developer understands immediately and really takes the pain out of realtime for a lot of people.
