secos··on Ask HN: My SaaS is stuck at $10K MRR, now what?
1000 paying customers is $10k MRR? Have you considered raising your prices?

Also, read everything patio11 has written at http://www.kalzumeus.com/blog/

secos··on The Quest for the ideal CEO-type Co-Founder
What about leadership ability? You describe a number of absolutely necessary talents, but without the ability to lead your team on the task of executing the vision, those talents don't matter for long.
secos··on Ask HN: how did you learn the command line?
I started with DOS 4.01, and a DOS manual. I went command by command, until I got to format "hey, we have a lot of files, it would be nice to have them formatted..."

That day I learned about OS installation as well.

And then continued.

secos··on I’m not going to any conferences this year
Agreed. Thats why I started the local barcamp, and will (most likely) create another event in the next year/18 months.

There is tremendous value in creating new events.

secos··on Ask HN: Would you pay for hardened AMIs/VMs?
I'd certainly consider it.... especially if it was targeted for specific industries/regulations (HIPAA, SAS 70, etc).
secos··on Tell HN: Launch an App month, Ship it in the next 30 days
I'm so happy to see people still doing this. (I'm also launching at least one (maybe 3 - sigh don't ask) apps this month.
secos··on Ask HN: tiny VMs
I've been looking as well. I have a hunch we have the same goal... Would love to chat. (my email is in my profile)
secos··on Ask HN: I hate the code in my popular open source app; do I put it on my resume?
I would say something along the lines of what you said here. You were new, there are a few things you'd have done differently now (and list what those are) but that people love it and its not your primary interest anymore, etc.
secos··on Ask HN: I hate the code in my popular open source app; do I put it on my resume?
I'm usually questioning the code I wrote 15 minutes ago.
secos··on Ask HN: Who Is Hiring Remote Workers? (January 2011 Edition)
I'm looking for a designer, and a UX person (hopefully one and the same) that can help build out a mobile / web application in the healthcare space.

We are hq'd in Omaha, Nebraska, but are open to talent being anywhere.

If you are interested, email matt nimblelogic com with a subject of PV.

secos··on Announcing StartupMonth.org (our November "Startup Sprint" project)
are you meaning two people on a project? if so, thats coming. if not, please elaborate?
secos··on November 15th, 2010: I Opt Out
They won't though. You are asking people to choose between getting groped/irradiated and BIG SCARY AMBIGUOUS THREAT.

Most people are not willing/able to make the leap you have.

secos··on Ask HN: Is there a NaNoWriMo equivalent for programming/apps?
Its possible that it may be more frequent :)
secos··on Big Omaha Video Series: Dennis Crowley of foursquare
Not my favorite personally, but its being compared to Scott Harrison of Charity Water, Gary V, and Tony Hseih of Zappos, so that's not really a negative.

Still a great video.

secos··on Lets make November "Launch an App Month", who's with me?
I've bought startupmonth.org to house a forum or something. Any thoughts on what should be there?
secos··on Lets make November "Launch an App Month", who's with me?
agreed. Trying to figure out a good method for all to keep in touch. Any suggestions?
secos··on Lets make November "Launch an App Month", who's with me?
A great point and completely agree. Updated post.
secos··on Lets make November "Launch an App Month", who's with me?
I know! I was worried about that, but hey, different inspirations for different folks, right? (I think thats how that goes...)
secos··on Feedback on my startup ideas
I like both ideas, but would see the second one as more useful initially (to me). That said, if you get the other one done in time of the end of November, there could be a fair number of startups needing such a tool. :)
secos··on Lets make November "Launch an App Month", who's with me?
Looks great! Good luck on the launch.
secos··on Lets make November "Launch an App Month", who's with me?
I like your name better :)

Congrats on the launch!

secos··on Ask HN: How do Hackers kill time when bored on weekend?
Bored is a choice.
secos··on Ask HN: Examples of applications built with Node.js?
http://whatcrackin.com is a weekend project so I could keep tabs on who was where during SXSW this last year.

node.js + google maps + faye comet library

secos··on Ask HN: How did you 'accidentally' make money?
Damn. Never got you here for BarCamp. Maybe BigOmaha next year?
secos··on Ask HN: How did you 'accidentally' make money?

I'm in Omaha, but may be willing to pop up for this.
secos··on Analyzing Diaspora
The original commenter has pointed out all of the technical issues I see with your post, minus the tone. I felt you were overly harsh. I can understand being frustrated with the situation, but, come on... in 3 months it will either die away or they will have succeeded (for some amount of success) and we can easily move on with our lives.
secos··on No Engineer will ever be happy with a line of code that he didn't write himself.
exactly the same for me. Always wondering if there is a better way to write that line of code. My goal: 100% performance improvement (ie: there is no line of code)

secos··on Ask HN: Why do no other laptop manufacturers get it?
One of the reasons for model # segmentation amongst the laptops sold in retail stores: price competition offers ie: "If you find this model cheaper somewhere else in the next 14 days and we'll beat the price"
