sebmaynard··on Show HN: PhreshOS – OS for Web Apps

Looks interesting though

Any suggestions?
sebmaynard··on Show HN: Better Hub – A better GitHub experience
On mobile (Firefox android) you can't see the video overview - so I have absolutely no information to go on as to what this is, other than it wants a lot of permissions, and to sign in with my GitHub account.
sebmaynard··on I designed my own fast game streaming video codec – PyroWave
That's exactly what https://polystream.com/ do
sebmaynard··on Drafting Software Recommendation
Try LibreCAD, FreeCAD, or OpenSCAD - I've had success doing what I understand you're doing, with all 3
sebmaynard··on I Solved a 7-Day Calculation Problem in a Weekend
Unless I'm misunderstanding, seems like the approach taken here (normal distribution and Monte Carlo simulation) might achieve similar?

sebmaynard··on Show HN: Resizer2 – i3/KDE window movement on Windows
I used to use AltSnap (https://github.com/RamonUnch/AltSnap) which works extremely well, and supports template snap zones.

Recently I wrote my own and now use that daily instead, which supports similar functionality (alt+drag) but also "zooming" in/out and panning around the desktop

sebmaynard··on Cooking with black plastic is particularly crucial to avoid
I'm one of those people. Absolutely can't stand it
sebmaynard··on I'm terrified of old people
Kudos to you gaining the self awareness to realise you don't know shit; I'm 40 now and it's taken me until relatively recently for that to dawn on me.

Enjoyed the article, keep writing!

sebmaynard··on A most profound video game: a good cognitive aid for research
Also available on Google Play Store [1], and it successfully derailed my sleep plans last night. Really breaks your expectations of "I move the character around" within minutes.

It reminds me a bit of the card game Fluxx [2], where every card you play changes the rules.

sebmaynard··on ChromeOS will soon be developed on large portions of the Android stack
Sounds like you could try a Samsung S phone with Dex and a lapdock?
sebmaynard··on Rook to XSS: How I hacked chess.com with a rookie exploit
Long live Tony the Pony.
sebmaynard··on I used AI to make an app to help me with my ADHD
The one that set off the light bulb for me was a book called The ADHD Effect on Marriage. 2 years ago I got a formal diagnosis having completed the DIVA (and got full marks )
sebmaynard··on Paint on Windows is getting layers and transparency support
Lightshot is a great app for exactly this. And lines, boxes etc
sebmaynard··on deVStudio – Runs VS Code on Android
I've been a happy UserLAnd user for a long time and it's a wonderful project, thank you!

I've have recently started using vmConsole too (which is based on qemu instead) as I needed docker. Also great.

sebmaynard··on Jitsi Meet abandons anonimity promise
Even easier with docker/docker-compose

sebmaynard··on On Learning Chess as an Adult – From 650 to 1750 in Two Years
I have 4 boys, 2 of which under under 5 months; I dearly miss my 1 hour drive to and from work, with podcasts, tech talks and thinking space.
sebmaynard··on Raspberry Pi Homelab with Kubernetes
"so that you have something pretty to show your non-technically inclined significant other as the output of your hard work"

Gosh, that resonates... :)

Also very excited to read part 2!

sebmaynard··on SVG Path Editor
Just fell down quite a rabbit hole exploring their site, some really lovely tools, and some fascinating writing
sebmaynard··on Alpine-term: x86_64 under QEMU with termux on Android
This project runs a full-blown qemu-based VM on Android running alpine Linux. Written by one of the maintainers of termux, and genuinely useful having "real" (not proot) Linux on my phone

Performance is surprisingly ok too - I'm using it on a OnePlus 8 Pro, and happily running my erlang development environment in it. Docker works too, albeit with a slight performance penalty

sebmaynard··on Beeware – Android and iOS Apps in Python
Here's a project the Beware team built, there's an iOS version built from the same source too

https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.keith_mage...

Also a note re their platform compatibility, it's not just Android and iOS: iOS, Android, Windows, MacOS, Linux, Web, and tvOS

Looks very interesting, going to give it a go adding guis to some existing cli python toys I've built
