Eye masks have also helped tremendously.
Thanks! Really good read.
This question was recently asked in the /r/machinelearning subreddit.

Generally the first question I ask when someone asks me that question is:
What are you trying to do?
If you are learning machine learning to do research, your answer will be very different than if you are learning machine learning to start a business or create something with the ML tools/applications available today.
General knowledge ML book:
* Hands-On Machine Learning with Scikit-Learn, Keras, and TensorFlow: Concepts, Tools, and Techniques to Build Intelligent Systems 3rd Edition by Aurélien Géron
General knowledge data applications book:
* Designing Data-Intensive Applications: The Big Ideas Behind Reliable, Scalable, and Maintainable Systems 1st Edition by Martin Kleppmann
General knowledge statistical machine learning book:
* The Elements of Statistical Learning: Data Mining, Inference, and Prediction, Second Edition (Springer Series in Statistics) 2nd Edition by Trevor Hastie (Author), Robert Tibshirani (Author), Jerome Friedman (Author)
Tooling wise, the rabbit hole goes very deep depending on what technologies and what areas you are exploring. Anything from PyTorch all the way to programming GPUs and how to store / work with massive data as well as general algos to work with all of this.
" We combined state-of-the-art tools from machine learning with survey-based methods in psychology to analyze a massive online English-language repository of moral dilemmas. In 369,161 descriptions (“posts”) and 11M evaluations (“comments”) of moral dilemmas extracted from Reddit’s “Am I the Asshole?” forum (AITA), users described a wide variety of everyday dilemmas, ranging from broken promises to privacy violations "
Agentic wisdom: make a list and a plan to do something fun that you enjoy this weekend
Strong wisdom: go and lift heavy weights
Beginner writing advice: write down everything going through your head without censoring or editing for the next 20-30 minutes and just get it out no matter how crude, jumbled, disorganized, hateful, etc it is. You can only write after everything that is stuck in your head is cleared up.
General talk-therapy advice: write down 1 positive thing you did in the last 24 hours
A few things.
Reddit advice: delete Facebook and hit the gym
Things I tell my kids: drink water and go for a walk outside
Old lady from down the street wisdom: find someone to help and help them whether it’s a local nonprofit or soup kitchen or somewhere else, helping others will help you

Otherwise, there are a bunch of newsletters/Substack's that add a layer on top of the arxiv stream.
Are there any you're already on? That would help me recommend a few more..
If by "fundraising", you mean you are an investor raising funds to invest in startups, then the above has myriad links for you to explore.
If by "fundraising", you mean you are a startup raising money, then the above could still be helpful to understand what the other side of the table will be looking at when you approach them with your company.

This reddit post also has a few interesting tidbits:

I generally break it down into - [ongoing] text file with all of the todos
- [daily] categorize added todos since the last day
- [daily] calendar things into when I have agreed with myself that I'll work on $project
- [weekly] if I find myself doing repetitive tasks, then I do a recurring calendar item with the specifics
So I only need a calendar of choice (google calendar for me), text file (apple notes/reminders), email (superhuman for delayed email functionality).
For me, I generally want to: a) put out new content once a week
b) create emails
c) answer calls
d) build tech
All of that sounds recurring other than c), so I first time box a daily time limit each day and slowly start figuring out what goes in where.
It changes as things progress (lots of tech needs to be built, content creation for a week I"m on vacation, etc)...
Happy to chat (my info in the profile). I've done the 9:5 + side project as well as stay-at-home parent + side project + a mix and can share more of what has worked for me.
