sebaz6r··on Play Framework is reborn like a phoenix from the ashes – and gets rid of Akka
It's great to see the Play Framework thriving with the backing of the community rather than depending on Lightbend.
sebaz6r··on Counterinsurgency (Coin) & Civilians: Israeli vs. American Approaches
"It is sad that Israel’s philosophy is one which intends to bring about political submission of the civilian population, and to cause them “maximal civilian distress” as part of this process until that submission occurs. The U.S. found out, for all the world (including Israel) to see, during the Vietnam war that causing civilians distress and being less than discriminating is a recipe for failure, for disaster, for driving civilians into the arms of the enemy, and for increasing the risk to and casualties among your own troops."

sebaz6r··on Safari 16.4 seems to lose session cookies on asset requests / JavaScript fetches
Safari 16.4 is giving us a big headache. How is it possible that the application runs fine in private browsing, but keeps losing session cookies in normal mode?

On https://akka.io or https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Akka_(toolkit) you get a better idea of what Akka is.

Thank you for referring to the Lightbend license FAQ. These use grants under the BSL are very limited - here the additional use grant for the Play Framework:

"If you develop an application using a version of Play Framework that utilizes binary versions of akka-streams and its dependencies, you may use such binary versions of akka-streams and its dependencies in the development of your application only as they are incorporated into Play Framework and solely to implement the functionality provided by Play Framework; provided that, they are only used in the following way: Connecting to a Play Framework websocket and/or Play Framework request/response bodies for server and play-ws client."

This won't really work because many projects based on the Play Framework use more Akka features than those granted.
