seanzieapples··on NewPipe – ad-free, open-source Android YouTube client
If you set up a Google Family (or whatever it's called) of 6 and just pay for the subscription it ends up costing like $3/month for YouTube Red. Been doing this for 5 years and just have my family pay me their share at the beginning of the year.
seanzieapples··on Elementary OS
I've been using Fedora on my desktop machine for a few months and it's fantastic. Because I had such a good experience with it I decided to sell my MacBook Pro about a month ago and bought this laptop. Dual-booted Fedora 24 and Windows (for gaming) and I'm loving it. Like you, I had to finagle Fedora a bit to get it working but now I use it as my main dev machine.
seanzieapples··on Two-factor authentication for Apple ID
Same thing happened to me. They said I had to wait like a week or something. Kinda dumb
seanzieapples··on Lessons learned while protecting Gmail
If you've implemented DKIM and SPF I'm surprised this is happening. Of course there are other factors but I'd be interested to see what the email looks like. Can you send an example to sean@catch.seanzieapples.com, please?
seanzieapples··on iTerm2 Version 3 Now in Beta
Like everybody else I just wanted to say thanks! I just downloaded the beta and it looks great!
seanzieapples··on Oculus Rift Pre-Orders to Open on January 6
I'm excited to see the future of VR, but I'm ultimately looking at a $1200-$1500 investment at least for a new computer and an Oculus. I simply don't have the money for that right now especially in the early consumer stages of a product.

I will say that I have tried DK1 and I was extremely impressed with it. That being said, I'll probably jump on this bandwagon in the next 3-4 years.

seanzieapples··on Android-x86 Project – Run Android on Your PC
This seemed pointless to me until I saw that they tested on this platform:

"ASUS Eee PCs/Laptops"

This reminded me that I have a 5 year old Eee laptop that I haven't used in years and throwing Android on there could be a fun weekend-afternoon project.
