seaghost··on The Dutch economy shows that taxes can't reduce wealth inequality [video]
What can?

seaghost··on Simplo batteries breaking MacBook logic boards?
Apple authorised service provider asked me 400€ for the replacement battery and labour costs. So I decided to replace it myself with iFixit kit and it was worth it. The iFixit instructions are really nice and not too complicated if you have a little bit of patience.
seaghost··on Simplo batteries breaking MacBook logic boards?
I have also replaced battery from iFixit kit, I don’t know if I have the same brand, my machine sometimes while in sleep restarts by itself and I hear chime sound during the night while I’m sleeping. I have late 2013 MacBook Pro 15” Retina with integrated graphics.
seaghost··on MacBook Pro 16-inch M1X chip just leaked – and it's game over for Intel
I use my computer mostly in the desktop mode with external screen, so I don't really care about screen quality, but I need certain mobility and I don't want mini.

At the current job I don't need virtualization but might need it in future at which point most apps will be optimized and fixed I guess.

Unfortunately, Windows only.
seaghost··on Why is there only one Snap Store?
I highly recommend switching to Pop!_OS.
seaghost··on What Is the PCI of Bank Payments?
They do, but direct debit is only allowed to “large” companies that move a lot of money in my experience. Usually you have to consent to allow direct debit, sometimes in the paper form, sometimes just by entering your account number. My startup tried to add direct debit via Stripe but our bank didn’t allows us to do because we don’t move a lot of money through our banks accounts also we’re not known. I think a lot of financial things in Europe are based on trust.
seaghost··on What Is the PCI of Bank Payments?
This not kind of direct debit that exists in EU zone.
seaghost··on Why the Dutch Wait Less at Traffic Lights
There is a same system in Antwerp, Belgium, not at every intersection though.
seaghost··on Blog Anonymously
"Anonymity on the internet. People can say whatever they want without attaching their name, face and self-pride. This creates extremely unproductive conversations without consequences. Platforms such as Twitter propel this behavior to new heights. When it was local, you'd lose friends for being unpleasant, you'd lose credibility in your community for being inflammatory." [0]

Anyone knows how much production of these solar panels pollutes environment and how many years they need to work to compensate for the pollution resulted in their production?

Synching but with cloud storage support like B2 or S3 compatibility is what I need.

seaghost··on Show HN: Caddy 2
Hi Matt,

Thanks for the nice piece of software. I like Caddy a lot. I would like to better integration with docker in terms of automated exposure of docker services based on labels for example. Similar how traefik does. That would be really nice to have.
