scot_hacker··on The lack of Chrome on iPad is disastrous
Background please? Chrome has always been available for iPad OS and still is.

https://apps.apple.com/us/app/google-chrome/id535886823

I don't choose to use it because I much prefer Safari and it does a far better job of protecting your privacy, but am just curious what you're referring to here.

scot_hacker··on Ask HN: Drupal or Django for my startup? and why
I wrote this back in 2009 so it's a bit long in the tooth at this point, but still mostly accurate (and I'm still going strong with Django in 2017):

Drupal or Django? A Guide for Decision Makers http://blog.birdhouse.org/2009/11/11/drupal-or-django/

scot_hacker··on Ask HN: Most Sites Don't Use a CMS Like Wordpress – What Non-CMS Do You Use?
Given all this recent love for static site generators, it's kind of amazing/sad that MovableType lost out to Wordpress - MT was a static site generator all along, and very sophisticated.
scot_hacker··on Ask HN: What did you make in Django?
I created the life-goal sharing site bucketlist.org in Django about six years ago. Super fun side project. Maintained it myself for a couple of years, then sold it to some passionate investors who have done a good job keeping it alive and thriving.

I've also created several university web sites and intranets, worked for years on a journalism project/publication, and am currently working on a massive Django-driven portal for an arts college in California.

scot_hacker··on Ask HN: How is ruby web dev centered so much vs. Python having flask and Django?
I'm curious why you say "Rails is much more modular than Django" when Rails includes more out of the box, and is more opinionated than Django. In fact, I would say that the opposite is true. Django is completely appropriate for tiny web projects, not just large ones. And how is Flask becoming "more popular" than Django? By what metric?
scot_hacker··on Ask HN: How do you provide your Python dependencies in production in 2016?
virtualenv+pip are absolutely the standard, and ansible is popular enough to be nearly standard. You didn't state why you're looking elsewhere. Is there any particular reason you want to use something else?
scot_hacker··on Ask HN: Will there be a lot of jobs for Django developers in the next 5-7 years?
No one has a crystal ball, but one thing I can say for certain is that I've been wondering this for years, but the number of recruiters hitting on me with Django job offers is greater than ever - I get several offers per week. There seems to be a bottomless appetite, and I see lots of startups adopting Django in some part of the stack.
