I'm not sure how viable such a thing would be given that most of facebook's negative aspects are a direct result of them monetizing the platform as much as possible. But I think it's worth thinking about!
I realize you probably meant "positive differentiator" but there you go. :)

In my experience performance is great if you're just doing text search, but if you combine that with other operators in the same SELECT it can be much slower than Elasticsearch since in many of those cases Postgres needs to fall back to a full table scan.
I imagine they _would_ do these tests with the crew compartment attached and dummy human loads strapped in to the crew seats.
More anecdata: my wife was in an accident last Friday - she hit a deer at highway speeds. The front of the vehicle crumpled significantly and the steering wheel airbag deployed, and she was totally fine. This was in a 6 year old Toyota Yaris.
I want my family back in a Yaris. Or any other vehicle with a 4 star or better NHTSA rating. It really doesn't matter which.
I'd rather blacklist though. I want to support sites that use unobtrusive advertising, but block ads on sites that use autoplaying videos, distracting animations, disgusting pictures of yellow teeth, etc.
* Provide a link from your blog back to the main website, so if I start by reading this (or any other) blog post, it's easy for me to learn more.
* Let me see what's available before signing up! I'm curious, but not that curious about what you're offering.
You probably haven't. But a less experienced programmer has learned why you should always use ===.
You could probably get around that by pouring a slab with small stem walls and building inside that, but that's not what they're doing here...
The difference was that the idea (quality, uncluttered search results) was a good one. The anti-Pointcast stance is well taken.
Off topic, I'm always extremely amused to see cars branded as "limited". "Ooh, this car has more limitations! Sign me up!"
"I want to look through this file..."
less file
"Oh, that's long, I want to look at all the foos..." less file | grep foo
"How many foos are there?" less file | grep foo | wc -l
Try it, it works!HTTP basic auth over SSL seems like the way to go - and you need to use SSL on your API anyway to prevent hijacking. The points about not allowing HTTP access to the API make sense, but avoiding basic auth entirely isn't a good security tradeoff.
