Alright, thanks a lot :)
schroffl··on Harmony Explained: Progress Towards a Scientific Theory of Music (2012)
Are you talking about "Fundamentals of Musical Acoustics" by Arthur H. Benade? I'm interested in buying the book, but I'm not sure which one you mean. Do you perhaps even have the ISBN?
schroffl··on Zig Error Patterns
The language reference has a section about naming identifiers https://ziglang.org/documentation/0.14.1/#Names
schroffl··on Listen to what gets lost when an MP3 is made (2015)
This produces an error in version 7.1 for me:

[AVFilterGraph @ 0x6000008b59d0] More input link labels specified for filter 'aeval' than it has inputs: 2 > 1

I'd love to try it :)

But it seems like the server is not reachable.

schroffl··on Elk OS – Audio Operating System
I recently played on an electronic drum set and it was absolutely fine with headphones. But when we hooked it up to the speakers across the room there was a very noticable delay (~5ms as we calculated) when hitting the pads with the stick.

Since I only used acoustic drums until then I never gave much thought to the idea of having your drums sound delayed. It was quite eye opening.

Now that sounds like an accessibility nightmare :P

I asked a similar question on StackOverflow recently.

schroffl··on Ask HN: What is it like to be old? What advice would you give to younger people?
According to the website in their comment it apparently stands for "Tension Myositis Syndrome (TMS)" (https://www.tmswiki.org/ppd/An_Introduction_to_Tension_Myosi...)
schroffl··on How I learned to charge my customers
Not really on-topic, but I have to say that I really enjoy the audio narration :)

It's well recorded and the music is not too loud either.

schroffl··on Ask HN: What's your favorite HN post?
Well, you don't have to open the link in a new tab.
schroffl··on Announcing The Zig Software Foundation
You can see the planned releases in the milestones on GitHub: https://github.com/ziglang/zig/milestones

I would say at least two more years then.

schroffl··on “Sequel” to the million dollar homepage using WebGL
Well, to be fair, Elms WebGL interface is surprisingly easy to use.
schroffl··on Inspirational xkcd
Well, then go buy some pasta immediately!
schroffl··on Commit messages guide
Having properly separated and single-purpose commits is awesome when running `git bisect` [1] — especially with automatic tests. As well when you revert said commits after the offender is found.

schroffl··on Don’t Get Clever with Login Forms
I made a custom password manager a while back [1] where I used the MutationObserver API [2] to detect when a field is unhidden or newly added. I mainly did it to deal with iClouds login flow. The performance of that could probably be improved by figuring out the container of the login and only attaching the observer to that. But the whole thing was never really finished and I eventually forgot about it.

I rembember the same thing on some other website I visited a few months ago, it's absolutely horrible. Imagine the face of the engineer that was told to implement this.
schroffl··on Show HN: Fnm – Fast and simple Node.js version manager built in ReasonML
It's nice to have this when you need to debug issues which only occur on certain versions. A good example would be the recent change of the c++ addon api, which caused my code to crash on some installations while it worked fine on others.
schroffl··on Shadow DOM enabled in Firefox nightly
At least in chrome you can enable "Show user agent shadow DOM" in the Settings. I don't know about other browsers, sorry.
