Leaving an area which required 2 parents to work has been one of the greatest things I've ever done and I won't go back. We are significantly happier without that pressure.
In WWII: Over 60 million people were killed, which was about 3% of the 1940 world population (est. 2.3 billion).
The US ended the war in the pacific with those bombs(129,000–246,000+ killed), who knows how many more would have died with an invasion of Japan. The second would not have been dropped if the Japanese had surrounded and ended the war. BTW, the US did not start the war. I'm not saying I support it, I'm just saying stop Monday morning quarterbacking.
You can learn anywhere, why work with a bunch of people who are not going to build you up and encourage you to improve yourself and by extension, the team/project. What are you really getting from these guys if it's "every man for himself" anyways?
1. Forget that, be confident. Just focus on improving yourself and on things that can make you better at your job.
2. No. I expect my junior guys to learn on their own but am always willing to step in and provide guidance.
3. There can be some rough people in IT. If they're rotten they are probably less confident than you think they are, probably more so than you, but don't want you to realize it.
Lastly, I can tell you from experience, if you don't think it's worth it, it's not. There are fun jobs out there, go and get one.
Another interesting fact is if you look at US deaths, fewer die between the age of 60 and 80 than before and after. Seems like if you can make it to sixty you'll die of old age or some random cancer.
Here's solid budgeting advice: If you don't have 3-6 months of savings set aside, cut out unneeded items such as TV (use 10/m netflix), starbucks, eating out as much, etc. Put all of this into savings immediately and forget about it.

I think their goal was to create more 'value' in their product but in fact made it less reliable and therefore less 'valuable'.
I love that USPS, a government entity so far in the red, has the ability to award any money at all...
A bit excessive? Throw the streamers in with the murderers and rapist, they'll come out better people.
I did try though and was very impressed.
The article suggests that women are not 'doing well' in the tech industry because men are holding them back while completely ignoring that fact that many, many more men that are interested in tech, than women. Many women are just not interested in the field and never even make it to the scenario the author suggested.
