A chip manufacturer proposes to sell more chips? Who would've guessed
saturn_vk··on Updated Google Maps shows destruction of the city of Rafah
It's sad that most world leaders do nothing to combat such genocide. There are so few sanctions against the state, or specific people, of Israel. Foreign forums are very much still open for business to them.

Or a very small child with an enormous amount of knowledge

saturn_vk··on Did Meta's Big Settlement Actually Help It?
Heroin sucks, but if you child is addicted to the needle, take the needle away.
saturn_vk··on The turbulent AI era is here
This is a fundamentally wrong approach.

Let AI replace jobs. Start taxing companies that use AI proportionally to their usage, and then distribute the proceedings to the people.

saturn_vk··on Malicious Rust crate Arrayref runs a build-time payload
Go has an official package search at https://pkg.go.dev/

There’s no poking, unless you are into that sort of thing

saturn_vk··on Generic Methods in Go 1.27
Absolutely. If you’ve never used Java or Go
saturn_vk··on Generic Methods in Go 1.27
vtables still need types, and a generic method that is not yet instantiated will not have them
saturn_vk··on Generic Methods in Go 1.27
That’s composition, and it’s not really the same as inheritance
saturn_vk··on Generic Methods in Go 1.27
I’ve written generic code once or twice per year. Usage through libraries is higher, though it’s not very visible.
saturn_vk··on Go 1.27
Some people do like it though
saturn_vk··on Go 1.27
That's been a major success

saturn_vk··on Systemd Linger
Which part? Just saying systemd is like saying a distribution is too complex
saturn_vk··on No Stack Overflow, No Autocomplete: What Coding Felt Like in the 80s
man studio and the like were really helpful trying to figure out what something did in a piece of code
saturn_vk··on Malicious npm packages detected across Red Hat Cloud Services
IIRC, go cannot run arbitrary code at build time, so that should not make it vulnerable
saturn_vk··on Malicious npm packages detected across Red Hat Cloud Services
The package might not ever be executed on the user's machine. Depending on your setup, it might only be ran on a server, where the data that can be exfiltrated is completely different.
saturn_vk··on Parallel agents in Zed
Is there an example of this?
saturn_vk··on I run multiple $10K MRR companies on a $20/month tech stack
Are you claiming that this does not show the speed difference between socket vs in process communication?
saturn_vk··on Show HN: TUI for managing XDG default applications
Great. I must be living on the moon then. I guess gnome work great there since it manages this part
saturn_vk··on A million ways to die from a data race in Go
On the other hand, it should be very obvious for anyone that has experience with concurrency, that changing a field on an object like the author showed can never be safe in a concurrency setting. In any language.
saturn_vk··on Gnome is better macOS than macOS
> completely unusable

You forgot „for me“

saturn_vk··on GNOME 50 completes the migration to Wayland, dropping X11 backend code
Why does the display server have to restore window positions?
saturn_vk··on GNOME 50 completes the migration to Wayland, dropping X11 backend code
Do you have a source for that statistic?
saturn_vk··on Orbital dynamics wizardry helped save NASA's next Mars mission
It might be better budget wise, especially in volatile times
saturn_vk··on Gnome Mutter Now "Completely Drops the Whole X11 Back End"
There are dozens of you. Dozens!
saturn_vk··on Gnome Mutter Now "Completely Drops the Whole X11 Back End"
> Wayland is still years away from usable state

… for you, surely. I’m sure there are some wayland users.

> autotype keepassxc passwords

What is that?

> remote desktop sessions

IIRC, gnome comes with an ootb RDP solution that, last I tried, worked as advertised. I’m not a big remote user though.

saturn_vk··on Bring Your Own Agent to Zed – Featuring Gemini CLI
The company is VC backed. Why would the software disappear though? It’s open source, so it can survive even if the company doesn’t
saturn_vk··on I tried coding with AI, I became lazy and stupid
