sariazout··on The first multiplayer PKM tool – put in a thought or idea, discover related ones
The world does not need another note-taking or PKM tool but I wanted a specific one so I spent the past year quietly building it.

I wanted something easy to use, without a steep learning curve or excessive customization.

Something that would let me capture anything from anywhere and show it to me in a way that makes sense.

Something purpose built to curate my knowledge library, without doubling as a to-do list, project management tool, or CRM system.

Something to help me connect ideas, not just collect them.

Something that feels equal parts personal and communal. This last part is the best of Sublime.

On Sublime, you're not alone. When you put a thought or idea - you discover related ideas from other people's libraries.

This last part of the value prop is something that is hard to describe in words - you have to feel it.

So I'd love your help - what do you like about the landing page? What do you dislike about it? What questions are left unanswered. I take constructive criticism very well, and happy to give beta access to helpful responses.

sariazout··on The future of search is boutique
it’s no longer enough to organize the world’s information. It becomes important to organize the world’s trustworthy information.
sariazout··on We need more boutique search engines
The stated mission of a company worth almost two trillion dollars is to “organize the world’s information” and yet the Internet remains poorly organized. Or, stated differently, in a world of infinite information, it’s no longer enough to organize the world’s information. It becomes important to organize the world’s trustworthy information.
sariazout··on Ghost Knowledge – a new business model for funding quality writing
A better way to fund knowledge.

1. You suggest ideas for essays you'd want to read from authors that don't normally publish. 2. You pledge $ to support the suggestions you like. 3. Ghost Knowledge collects payment and coordinates with authors to make the magic happen

sariazout··on The rise of community-curated knowledge networks
We are living through the emergence of a new business category which I believe will become an important part of our digital lives: community-curated knowledge networks
sariazout··on The Business of Understanding People
Technology doesn’t disrupt industries. Unhappy customers do.

The best companies don’t have access to better technology. They have a better ability to understand people.

sariazout··on On paid newsletters and why consistency is overrated
52 issues, 6,578 subscribers later... why I won't go paid.
sariazout··on Users as people and the participatory economy
A paradoxical truth in business is that most companies spend little time focused on their customers. The beauty of the participatory economy is that it’s not only about what makes sense for publishers, advertisers, creators, teachers, etc… but also listening to the people on the other side (students, fans, readers, shoppers) and honoring them as people, not users.
sariazout··on Letter to a friend who is leaving her job to do do something on her own
In the passion economy, the real risk is that your job has to earn a living and meet the needs of your soul.

Six questions to consider.

sariazout··on From the gig economy to the creator economy to the participatory economy
In the gig economy, users who contribute time and data are rewarded linearly, while platforms grow exponentially.

In the creator economy, people regain control and creators earn an asymmetric return on their time.

In the forthcoming "participatory economy" both creators and fans participate in a creator's success.
