sandyc··on Searching for Mark Pilgrim
via @textfiles "Mark Pilgrim is alive/annoyed we called the police. Please stand down and give the man privacy and space, and thanks everyone for caring."
sandyc··on Ask HN: I'm a startup founder with 2 near deaths, what do I do?
Get a lawyer - thats what you really need by the sounds of things.
sandyc··on Show HN: Simple Web Bookmarking on One Big Page
Seems to be down?
sandyc··on Ask HN: Which one to choose Scala/Ruby On Rails/Java/PHP
I love Scala, but it's tools at this point in time don't lend itself to be an easily adopted new language (unless you're keen on getting your hands dirty setting up the right dev. environment). I use Java for work, and have dabbled in PHP, but I think for learning a new language for a web project, you should give Ruby On Rails a go.
sandyc··on Ask HN: How did you got your job recently?
Nepotism and word of mouth
sandyc··on New MacBook Pro series
Because then you have to buy an iPhone (and proprietary cables, and then you might find some fun apps etc.)
sandyc··on Poll: Where do you work (geographically)?
Hahaha, awesome, Australia made the list :D (seems odd, but I'll take it ;)
sandyc··on The Cobra Programming Language
Following up on my reply, this post by the author of the language (on an unrelated forum) might illuminate the issue you were concerned with:

"Hi, I'm the author of the Cobra programming language. I didn't write the statement about it being intrinsically bound up in the .NET framework. In fact, I'm the guy who started two additional back-ends for JVM and Objective-C, as well as the refactoring necessary to support this. These are not complete, and I would love any and all help with these efforts. If you're interested, let me know. (Cobra is open source under the liberal MIT license.) In the mean time, Cobra runs on Novell Mono (which I use on Mac and Linux) and Microsoft .NET. You can learn more about Cobra at http://cobra-language.com/ -Chuck "

sandyc··on The Cobra Programming Language
My (vague) guess would be that with the existence of Mono, which essentially gives something like this a universality, whomever down voted you thought you might have been MS bashing.

But yeah, I don't think your comment was out of line.

sandyc··on HN, I just built this 2D game designer. What do you think?
I agree. An About page would really help understand what the product is, and why you've made it.
sandyc··on Pandora: Community driven linux based hardware project, actually shipping units.
No you're correct, it has to have Google's blessing to have (at least proper, and not hacked) market access.
sandyc··on EU funds open source language Scala
This is great! Fantastic to see government get behind innovation like Scala.

If the mouse has focus on a post, it should stop the scrolling. (roll over or input selected)

Also, I think there should be a timer to auto hide comments from a root node, so only recent posts show the nested trail. This will stop the page from getting giganto

sandyc··on Mark Zuckerberg's work desk. Check the video.
yeah somehow I doubt that is his office :P
sandyc··on Ask HN: Best way to find a technical cofounder?
I'd suggest looking into what would be required to get started technically yourself, and in the ensuing learning process you'd not only educate yourself so that conversations with your future co-founder would have some decent merit, but you might find someone along the way ;)
