Also I think I was like 24 when I wrote that and I love seeing how my write has evolved.

For the record, I stand by the sentiment, which is the media vilify startup founders.

Yeah that's pretty wild. The survey actually include student loans though as well, but it's still crazy.

I have heard that Vungle is doing well financially, so I'd say that's success.

I don't know about Shyp tho, but they have a lot of buzz and an innovative product, which in my mind is a success...although they still have a LONG way to go to prove themselves. So I get your point. I don't think funding is defines success, but more so a strong sign that your on your way making something work. And I totally agree...funding in itself isn't something you should brag about.

However, the # of jobs Jack helped create IMHO is 100% a success. It's super rewarding and changes lives (most of the time) in a great way.

Are you an engineer? Most of my programmer buds rarely use LinkedIn. However, I'm a business guy and use it at least once a day.

What words would it possibly be trying to rank for? Stop being a hater.

I think you're right, they aren't a great example, but many 'big' companies did questionable things that paid off in the end.

Of course, had this not worked everyone would call Tim a moron...but since it worked it's pretty awesome.

Maybe it is, but I'm saying that it is healthy.

I'd disagree a litte. I wrote that post and for some people (like me) there just is not much a middle ground. Maybe I'm just too immature, impulsive, or I don't know what, but I can't moderate myself.

Hey there - I'm the author. Didn't expect this to make it here.

But to address your point: Yes, I for sure had a problem and the title understates it. I just wanted to write in a light hearted way for two reasons:

1) I knew my mom would read the post so didn't wanna worry her. 2) Alcoholism is a serious topic and hard to talk about, but when you tell your buds it makes life easier. And having a sense of humor makes things way easier to discuss...so that's my attempt to be humorous about a serious topic.

I've been considering changing the paper to a step-by-step illustration on how to use the product. My thought was that I wanted the paper form to be a photo because I wanted the customer to see an example of the product.

As of now, just US. It took a lot of work to be certified to accept social security numbers and do background checks. So We would like to tackle the US first before moving ahead. We are bootstrapped too the extreme! So trying to make it happen with little resources.
