So users of old software may be aware of various defects and have changed their behaviour to make it work for them. It's important to consider the human element when "fixing" legacy software.

This seems fair to me. I know people who are regularly leaving home at 5am to make their first appointment at 9am just so their employer can avoid paying them overtime.
Or maybe those over 28 are willing to pay more, and this is a move to maximize revenue.
