samet··on 1X Neo – Home Robot - Pre Order
Inevitable Futurama Robot 1X reference.

samet··on Hetzner GEX44 with Nvidia GPU
They use to provide servers with Nvidia 1080 GPUs. Even though several generations of new GPUs appear, Hetzner didn't vend those new GPUs. Let's see what happens this time.

(Disclaimer: I love Hetzner and their business model/customer service.)

samet··on “Connecting any device will cause the entire hotel to crash”
What if a Chromecast dongle is plugged in?
samet··on Brute Force Incognito Browsing
I went through the very same path and wrote almost the same Bash script, then packaged it as a MacOS app:

http://github.com/samet/sessionless

When I need a true sessionless browsing experience, here is what I do:

1. cmd+space, open Sessionless

2. do whatever do you want with a true sessionless mode

3. cmd+q, quit with sweeping every trace

4. profit

Besides, I can open more than one independent Sessionless windows; a feature which is not possible using Incognito mode.

samet··on Pull to Refresh.js
Agreed. One of the worst things that websites implement is overriding the history. In particular, "listicles" are doing that. When you go back, it goes back to the previous list item in the text even all the content lies in a single page app.
samet··on Pricing low-touch SaaS
Followed you on Twitter.
samet··on Pricing low-touch SaaS
thanks for such beautiful insights. It's nice to see that there is no significant difference between free and almost-free plans.

Is that somehow possible to share your your thesis? I'd love to read end to end.

samet··on The Mac Pro Lives
Moom does what it does. I use it as a faceless application.
samet··on A personal fight against the modern laptop
Thanks for pointing that out. I watched the video as embedded in the post.
samet··on Why are people from the future not time traveling to our period? (2012)
That's a kind of time travel as well, thanks for pointing that out.
samet··on NYC has too many taxis
I'm not sure about the reason but I'm sure I don't like it.
samet··on Intel's new desktop CPUs aren't faster
Exactly. That's why people still look for a 2012 MBP.
samet··on Show HN: Ecommerce Stack – A List of Ecommerce Tools
Shameless plug: I am in Prisync team, among the people who crafted this stack.

As an e-commerce SaaS company, we are using several different tools, some of them are good, some are better than others. At the end of the day, an accumulated list of tools emerge in our issue tracking tickets, Wiki pages and in our minds.

We just wanted to enrich that list and publish the outcome as a separate website for e-commerce fellows looking for a worthwhile list of tools.

For the sake of sharing culture, the list is open for submissions, so please do not hesitate to add e-commerce tools you use (or develop).

samet··on Ask HN: Why does 'View Source' issue a new HTTP request?
Second that. That wasn't the default behaviour at once.
samet··on Deep Learning: What, Why and Applications
Slashdot/HN effect:

Resource Limit Is Reached

The website is temporarily unable to service your request as it exceeded resource limit. Please try again later.

samet··on Major changes to Mandrill, must be tied to a MailChimp account
Agreed.
samet··on Show HN: Gmelius 6 – Gmail just got better
I tried to use as a free tier user but I think Gmelius provides almost nothing to me unless I upgrade to premium.
samet··on Using Xmonad on OS X
Among all of those, I would write the very same things. Thanks @LukeHoersten.
samet··on Ask HN: What SaaS applications have a great UI?
(shameless plug) we are trying to have a good looking design at http://prisync.com.
samet··on Ask HN: My free app has gone slighty viral – looking for ideas to monetize it
I developed and maintained a game for Android devices for 3 years and the game was for Turkish players only.

80 percent of my time was spent for optimizing the game for low-end devices; low-end devices lead the market because of those are the ones that majority of high school (or even primary school) students' parents could afford.

Not surprisingly, revenue coming from low-end devices segment was almost zero because young people using these devices are usually under 18 and were not allowed to have credit cards. Even relatively older ones (such as college students) didn't spend any money because they were trying to survive as students with a limited budget.

Nexus One is a great smartphone with an acceptable large screen and you can still buy a working one from the second hand market. The weakest point of this cheap-heavy duty device is the limited memory, which is you focused on. (Actually it can be hacked to extend internal memory to micro SD card, but still hard for many people.)

Another example of low-end devices is Samsung Galaxy Ace. That is, my friend, a time and effort killer with almost no returns except always complaining free users.

samet··on Bringing First Timers to PyCon Through Financial Aid
That was awesome. I couldn't go to PyCon without Financial Aid. This is the biggest amount of aid I've ever heard in a conference. 100.000$ is really big.

Conference was hillarious, I was glad to be there. Thanks all for the aid program.

samet··on Xkcd: Click and Drag
Randall just got crazy (with a good meaning).
samet··on Realtime Web Messaging over Animated Gifs

samet··on Vim clutch
Why isn't there a clutch for computer games (except car driving games)?

A clutch can be used for mod switching; such as running mode, stealth mode or reloading guns.

samet··on Vim clutch
Congrats. I've been thinking for a while to make a clutch for switching hosts file. (I need to switch from testing to production environments for a while) But your idea is much better.
