saiko-chriskun··on Show HN: NoobNinja - get and give help for specific coding or design tasks
Hangouts ftw!
saiko-chriskun··on Show HN: NoobNinja - get and give help for specific coding or design tasks
Ah I thought it was more proper to add the u than to do the line over the o. It's at least much more prevalent :P.
saiko-chriskun··on Show HN: NoobNinja - get and give help for specific coding or design tasks
If you want to be proper, you're forgetting to add the 'u' to the end of ohayou and arigatou :P

saiko-chriskun··on Show HN: NoobNinja - get and give help for specific coding or design tasks
this is standard behavior for a text box....

EDIT: and btw your English is fine, would never had noticed anything if you didn't say so :P

saiko-chriskun··on Show HN: NoobNinja - get and give help for specific coding or design tasks
I don't think so I'm getting a very similar issue.

request invite button for sensei doesn't seem to do anything?

EDIT: yeah looking at the network requests it's giving an internal server error.

saiko-chriskun··on Some crazy and not so crazy startup and project ideas
love the second idea! would totally be willing to help build something like that :3. I can already see a few ways it could be expanded, as well.
saiko-chriskun··on Ask: Transition from Microsoft stack to...?
It's going to be hard to say much without starting some biased flame war, since in the end there's nothing that one framework can do that another can't, really.

All of the languages mentioned above have pretty good ecosystems around them. I think Ruby's is the strongest at the moment, but if you're more of a python guy no harm in that :P.

Honestly I learn as much as I can, and as such have done at least a little bit of dev work in all of the above languages plus some :P. Never hurts, and you'll be able to make a much more informed decision yourself afterwards.

saiko-chriskun··on Ask HN: What do you use for persistent chat?
http://grove.io ?
saiko-chriskun··on Why Y Combinator News is so popular?
As with all things, community (i.e. network-effect) is what's most important.

e.g. craigslist

saiko-chriskun··on I am a 14 year old programmer. I'm stuck.
This. Just break it down into many smaller steps and take 'em one at a time. Make sure you always have something to work on and are making progress, no matter how slow that progress may seem.
saiko-chriskun··on Ask HN: Want to collaborate on a quick election themed website?
I could help out :)
saiko-chriskun··on Trigger.io Native Plugins beta
#winning :)
saiko-chriskun··on Ask HN: What tools are you using for your site's documentation
Stripe's full api docs look like they were generated with something similar to http://rtomayko.github.com/rocco
saiko-chriskun··on Show HN: My Weekend Project for our Anniversary
thankies ;)
saiko-chriskun··on Ask HN: Where are the opportunities outside of Silicon Valley?
Santa Monica is where most of the tech scene is at in LA
saiko-chriskun··on A Letter from Tim Cook on Maps
they cut their contract with google....
saiko-chriskun··on App developers in LA
I think you're gonna have to include more info than that :/
saiko-chriskun··on Ask HN: How much would you pay for your Facebook account?
yeah I would imagine functionality and network completely trumps "look". doesn't make much sense to me.
saiko-chriskun··on Why Are Programming Languages Sites So Ugly?
active link colors distracted you? what? so.. you don't use syntax highlighting in your editor?

and what exactly does a 404 page have to do with a page with actual content.

saiko-chriskun··on Why Are Programming Languages Sites So Ugly?
sigh
saiko-chriskun··on Why Are Programming Languages Sites So Ugly?
It is /not/ "in the eye of the beholder". UX is a science. If you can't tell the difference between PHP's site and, say, git's, well, I don't think there's much else to talk about here.
saiko-chriskun··on HN, We Need To Talk
nothx
saiko-chriskun··on Show HN: After a couple of months playing with the Reddit API, I built this...
Really well designed and nicely done :D. My only comment about it is that every time I reload the site, it shows me the same images in the same order. Need to randomize it up a little bit.
saiko-chriskun··on Github redesigns Profiles
what's with all the negativity :P. the new design is waay better. I'm surprised they haven't updated it 'till now.
saiko-chriskun··on New Stripe Chat
stripe is the best :P
saiko-chriskun··on [dead]
You don't get it? So just because something is within the law that makes it ok? Was slavery ok back in the day just because it was legal?

What I don't get is how people can justify using this argument.

saiko-chriskun··on No Email
Not sure I follow. I don't take time off to "check" my email. When I get an email, I get a notification. I open it up, respond, and get back to what I was doing. Where's the time lost in this?
saiko-chriskun··on Ask HN: Would you pay for a 24/7 "sysadmin as a service"?
I actually think this is a pretty good idea. If I were working at my own startup, I might even pay for this myself even though I have a decent amount of sysadmin skills. I can definitely see it being useful to consult with someone more experienced for those tough situations that have to be handled quickly.
