sagarpatil··on Making 2.5 Flash and 2.5 Pro GA, and introducing Gemini 2.5 Flash-Lite
Check out zen MCP server https://github.com/BeehiveInnovations/zen-mcp-server Lets you use Gemini and OpenAI models in Claude Code.
sagarpatil··on Generative AI coding tools and agents do not work for me
I always use Claude Code to debug issues, there’s no point in trying to do this yourself when AI can fix it in minutes (easy to verify if you write tests first) o3 with new search can do things in 5 mins that will take me at least 30 mins if I’m very efficient. Say what you want but the time savings is real.
sagarpatil··on Generative AI coding tools and agents do not work for me
Use free tiers?
sagarpatil··on Generative AI coding tools and agents do not work for me
Yeah, you can’t do sh*t in an hour. I spend a good 6-8 hours every day using Claude Code, and I actually spend an hour every day trying new AI tools, it’s a constant process.

Here’s what my today’s task looks like: 1. Test TRAE/Refact.ai/Zencoder: 70% on SWE verified 2. https://github.com/kbwo/ccmanager: use git tree to manage multiple Claude Code sessions 3. https://github.com/julep-ai/julep/blob/dev/AGENTS.md: Read and implement 4. https://github.com/snagasuri/deebo-prototype: Autonomous debugging agent (MCP) 5. https://github.com/claude-did-this/claude-hub: connects Claude Code to GitHub repositories.

sagarpatil··on Generative AI coding tools and agents do not work for me
What really baffles me is the claims from: Anthropic: 80% of the code is generated by AI OpenAI: 70-80% Google/Microsoft: 30%
sagarpatil··on Android 16 is here
Let need explain. Windows user for 28 years. I decided to try macOS and got hooked (no more WSL). Moved from Android to iPhone because of tight integration with macOS. 1. Universal copy (copy from/to Mac) 2. Automatically fill OTP from phone to mac 3. Passwords app integration means I don’t have to fill 2FA manually (mac or iPhone) 4. I use Apple TV 4K and I can use my iPhone as a remote, use it for color calibration, use it as a dedicated camera for FaceTime on TV 5. I use Apple Watch to receive important calls/ notifications when my phone is not around. When you are using Watch, macOS does not ask you to enter system password for when you are changing system settings, installing/uninstalling apps etc.

These are the things at the top of my mind, I’m sure I can come up with much more.

Photo sync and iCloud are pretty easy to replace with Google Photos/G drive, so I’m not worried about that part.

It’s these small things that add up and make the whole experience better.

sagarpatil··on Android 16 is here
The worst part is I’m so deep in Apple ecosystem that it’s impossible to move to Android.
sagarpatil··on OpenAI dropped the price of o3 by 80%
Meanwhile Apple: Liquid Glass
sagarpatil··on OpenAI dropped the price of o3 by 80%
Have they ever decreased the price in the past? I don’t remember.
sagarpatil··on OpenAI dropped the price of o3 by 80%
Before: 50 messages per week Now: 100 messages per week
sagarpatil··on Prompt engineering playbook for programmers
That has been my conclusion too but how do you explain the long ass prompt by AI labs: https://docs.anthropic.com/en/release-notes/system-prompts#m...
sagarpatil··on Oxfordshire clock still keeping village on time after 500 years
Older than United States.
sagarpatil··on Human coders are still better than LLMs
So your sample size is 1 task and 1 LLM? I would recommend trying o3, opus 4 (API) with web search enabled.
sagarpatil··on Show HN: I wrote a modern Command Line Handbook
Just bought it. Any advice on how to use the book to master the terminal? One page a day or try to finish everything in a week or two?
sagarpatil··on U.S. sanctions cloud provider 'Funnull' as top source of 'pig butchering' scams
The worst part is, these scams flourish during bull markets, like now, when alts start shooting up 10-20% everyday. Stay safe.
sagarpatil··on LLM codegen go brrr – Parallelization with Git worktrees and tmux
I avoid using my own API keys, especially for Sonnet 4 or Opus, because LLMs can rack up unexpected costs. Instead, I use Augment Code’s remote agents and Google’s Jules, which charge per message rather than by usage. This setup is ideal for me since I prefer not to run the model locally while I’m actively working on the codebase.
sagarpatil··on Gemini Diffusion
Cool story.
sagarpatil··on Devstral
Sorry. I was wrong.
sagarpatil··on Claude 4
Sonnet 3.7 > Sonnet 4? Interesting.
sagarpatil··on Claude 4
Did you not see the live stream? They took a feature request for excalidraw (table support) and Claude 4 worked on it for 90 minutes and the PR was working as expected. I’m not sure if they were using sonnet or opus.
sagarpatil··on An upgraded dev experience in Google AI Studio
You can’t in AI studio, it’s available on loveable.
sagarpatil··on An upgraded dev experience in Google AI Studio
It allows you to use your own api ke.
sagarpatil··on OpenAI to buy AI startup from Jony Ive
4.1 in api already provides 1 million tokens. Anthropic’s enterprise version does too. I’m not sure if this is a software or a hardware (computer) problem.
sagarpatil··on Devstral
They are referring to SWE bench lite. Just want to make sure you are too.
sagarpatil··on Gemini Diffusion
Why are you obsessed with Pelicans? What’s your story?
sagarpatil··on Claude Code SDK
Why not use Claude Max Plan? Starts at $100.
sagarpatil··on Jules: An Asynchronous Coding Agent
I signed up on the waitlist when it was announced, got my invite today.
sagarpatil··on Coding agent in 94 lines of Ruby
I don’t understand the hype in the original post.

OpenAI launched function calls two years ago and it was always possible to create a simple coding agent.

sagarpatil··on A Research Preview of Codex
It generates a PR. You decide if you want to merge, clone it locally, test, edit and then merge the code.
sagarpatil··on A Research Preview of Codex
I am working with a 3rd party API (Exa.ai) and I hacked together a python script. I ran a remote agent to do these tasks simultaneously (augment.new, I’m not affiliated, I have early access)

Agent 1: write tests, make sure all the tests pass.

Agent 2: concert python script to fastapi

Agent 3: create frontend based on fastapi endpoints

I get a PR, I check code and see if it works and then merge to main. All three PR’s worked flawlessly (front end wasn’t pretty).
