saejox··on Google Has Removed MV2 Extensions from the Chrome Web Store, Including UBO
Google for me died when they banned my many years old gmail account out of blue. Because i used vpn to access it.

It was such a big hit to my online life to lose my email like that.

Their appeal system is fully automated, impossible to get a human to look at your case.

This is warning to any reader of this comment, do not depend on your google account to be forever.

saejox··on Samsung's Processing-in-Memory (PIM)
If we could buy a 64gb stick and run a 32b model with 30tps on it. This could sell
saejox··on Show HN: The load-bearing vocabulary of Claude
great website design.

i must be the only one in the world that has no issues with how opus is talking. it is verbose & patronizing & secretly belittling at times and like it like that.

saejox··on MS Paint and Photos inivisibly watermark even locally generated output with GUID
These days i cant recommend Windows to anybody. Even gamers should move to linux.

Some say "i do nothing illegal" "have nothing to hide". You dont do anything illegal in your point of view. AI tracking you might think otherwise.

A sudden knock on your door might happen because of an ambigious search/propmt.

saejox··on Kobo can run apps now
I still use my Kobo Glo. I must been working at least 10 years now. I have finished countless books on it.

I like that is a durable single use device. I wouldnt use it as general use computer at all.

Even my old kobo has experimental features like wifi and a web browser. They have been trying to break in to that market since forever.

saejox··on Show HN: Huzzah – a novel approach to coding with AI
this is a question whole software industry is trying to solve. "how can we make sense of the ai generated codebase"

what you did is spec-driven development, instead of use-cases and requirements you have pseudo-code.

spec-driven did not work in my case, likely yours suffer the same "issue of walls of text no one wants to read".

saejox··on Claude writing a macOS driver for my obscure HP printer built only for Windows
my Brother dcp-t230 also doesn't have macos drivers and it's a usb only printer. if i ever get some tokens to burn, i would try the same.
saejox··on Why tech bosses keep sharing their manifestos about AI
Public sentiment about AI is trending down. All about trying to turn that slope to a positive number.
saejox··on The other Sean Byrne doesn't exist
Not exactly the same still i would like to share my horror story.

Google decided to ban my many years old account. Reason: account created by computer program. Likely flagged me because i use multiple computer and connect from other wifi.

Whats worse is i am a monetized youtube partner with million+ views. Youtube support (@TeamYoutube) just say "it is a google problem"

All appeals are handled by bots, there is no way to reach an actual human being.

We are being controlled by our ai overlords. Some bot on some cpu can ruin your life on a whim.

saejox··on Claude Cookbook
if i don't write "use podman instead of docker" it will go on journey to install docker. so there is some use for it.
saejox··on Flux 3
i don't get why they are investing money on image/video gen. All generations i have see looked blurry, lacking in fine details and missing the artistic touch (lacks meaning? lifeless?)
saejox··on Phantasy Star IV – 1993 Developer Interviews
This part fires me up to create art for arts sake:

Kodama: That’s also partly why this development was a lot of fun, I think: we (the developers) started the project on our own initiative, and many people on the team had worked on PSII and were able to address the shortcomings and unfinished ideas they had from that game in PSIV.

saejox··on The Best Windows is Linux
Crashes too frequently for me. Needs a reboot to fix only to be crashed again few hours later. I never found a solution; likely related to docker/podman being memory hungry.

Port handling requires constant Powershell maintenance too.

saejox··on Wi is Fi: Understanding Wi-Fi 4/5/6/6E/7/8 (802.11 n/AC/ax/be/bn)
Must wifi speed issues are actually obstacle issues. One concrete wall and wifi5/6/8 all dead. Only 4 survives. 2.4ghz is here to say
saejox··on Should I Run Plain Docker Compose in Production in 2026?
sign... another ai written article. are we already living in the dead internet? hackernews is filled with ai written blog posts.
saejox··on X Accounts with over 1M Followers
i saw that no one actually make this information publicly available, so i did it myself. hopefully it helps someone.
saejox··on MacBook Neo
8gb ram is criminal. For $100 more Air is the one to buy.
saejox··on GPT-5.2
This is very impressive. Google really is ahead
saejox··on AWS multiple services outage in us-east-1
AWS has been the backbone of the internet. It is single point of failure most websites.

Other hosting services like Vercel, package managers like npm, even the docker registeries are down because of it.

saejox··on Notion 3.0
Note taking is supposed to be a map of my brain. Not generated garbage from LLMs. I only want the most memorable things to be in there.
saejox··on Nvidia buys $5B in Intel
I hope this isn't "Shut-up" money to end ARC gpu development. i have an A770, i am very happy with it.
saejox··on AI coding
> AI makes you feel 20% more productive but in reality makes you 19% slower. How many more billions are we going to waste on this?

True in the long run. Like a car with a high acceleration but low top speed.

AI makes you start fast, but regret later because you don't have the top speed.

saejox··on Sniffly – Claude Code Analytics Dashboard
I left a comment like that, because the project itself is about the productivity of AI. Project aims to increase it. Mine is also about productivity of AI. But my distaste about its blandness.

On the whole meta discussion thing, i have been reading HN for at least 15 years. Posts with lots of comments are meta discussions. HN is not really a place to discuss technics of a project.

saejox··on Sniffly – Claude Code Analytics Dashboard
I fear for the variety in the internet coding culture. Significant portion of code is being written by ai, all looks the same, all has the same mediocre quality. Even the github page descriptions are generated with ai, overflowing with emojis and same sentence structures repeated.
saejox··on How I code with AI on a budget/free
I also agree with this.

While the ai has less context, you have more context using the limited chat window. You know what you need from the ai.

saejox··on Fixing a Direct3D9 bug in Far Cry (2018)
it is a subtle bug. mostly concerning preservationists. players are likely more worried about bandits shooting at them than mountains not reflected on the water.
saejox··on A 37-year-old wanting to learn computer science
That's because of pixel perfect rendering is not handling rotations and position changes great. It looks fine in motion, but i can improve with using semi transparent pixels on the edges.
saejox··on A 37-year-old wanting to learn computer science
I didn't draw a single piece of PNG until i am 38. Now i am about to release my second solo developed game. My art is nothing great, but a year a ago wouldn't even believe i could draw a single sprite.

https://www.instagram.com/arcadenest_games/

I find my age to be great period to learn new skills. It is never too late.

saejox··on Ask HN: How did Soham Parekh get so many jobs?
I can't even find one job. What's his secret?
saejox··on The new skill in AI is not prompting, it's context engineering
Claude 3.5 was released 1 year ago. Current LLMs are not much better at coding than it. Sure they are more shiny and well polished, but not much better at all. I think it is time to curb our enthusiasm.

I almost always rewrite AI written functions in my code a few weeks later. Doesn't matter they have more context or better context, they still fail to write code easily understandable by humans.
