sadboi31··on Ties between Google's Project Nimbus and Israel's military
Mass censorship and search friction does that to people. So far as the war on empathy goes HN is lost.
sadboi31··on Jelly Star – The Smallest Android 13 Smartphone
The Moto Z2 Force is great but it does seem as if it is slowly losing some support. I've dropped mine from a bike going 30+mph multiple times and have dropped it on the concrete (no case) more times than I can count.
sadboi31··on Pay for Lawyers Is So High People Are Comparing It to the NBA
Law firms are the right-arm of the shadow government. Non-profit super-pacs are probably the left arm. The legs would def be the internet.

K&L Gates for example builds sophisticated social networks graphs of people in and outside of it's immediate community. Purchase as much data as you'd imagine an org like palantir would. They do their own "market research". Equal access to software based tools doesn't exist here or anywhere.

sadboi31··on Symbian Source Code: Final Repositories from the Defunct Symbian Foundation
Look into the Neo900 project. A lot of the current "secure" cell phone projects are really US-State plugs. The US Gov't is surprisingly transparent in it's funding. Just not opaque since it's kind of like a holographic sieve. Signal is one example of a Gov't backed and maintained project. Other things out there like LimeSDR recieve funding but maintain more autonomy.

Some people here want to talk to scholars, researchers, journalists, and/or friends/family in foreign countries about surveillance capitalism. Sometimes people want to speak to people who would otherwise be victims of reprisal if their state or their states' allies used the various tools Israel + US sells to hack + de-anonymize targeted individuals(i.e. students, journalists, lawyers, human rights wokers, etc#).

sadboi31··on Show HN: A Modern Palletization App
Would you be interested in learning more about the ITAD industry? I built a warehouse monitoring solution that included quiet a bit. Surveillance, sales-performance tracking, employee-performance tracking, guided repair on broken machines removed from pallets, cost-benefit-analysis "what do I work on" kinda apps. We supported 50+ orgs in my local community and some major fortunre 500s before i left over some ethical concerns. Schools, hospitals, and other refurbishers/resellers/recyclers in our industry some years back all used our software.
