sadache··on Open source template for building static web sites with Prismic.io and AWS S3
Here is a very quickstart tutorial to test prismic.io https://prismic.io/quickstart

Don't hesitate to ask questions!

sadache··on Is Creative Commons an appropriate license for managing content for Open Source?
Excuse my ignorance, but can OS licenses be applied to other than code (content, text, images, ... etc) ?

I mean, really ignore the impact of licensing content with OS license, any references?

We're working on a different website for explaining the approach of the product.

Do you think that the following fails at explaining the idea of the product?

prismic.io is a different approach to content management. It features a Writing Room for content writers to author and manage content, and a Content Query Api for developers to integrate managed content into any website or app.

Thanks for the valuable feedback. Here is a question, do you think the following explains well the product?

"prismic.io is a different approach to content management. It features a Writing Room for content writers to author and manage content, and a Content Query Api for developers to integrate managed content into any website or app."

By the way, in another HN thread, we posted a $60 discount code "HNApril15" to thank HN community for this awesome and constructive feedback.

We're working on a new website that should do better at explaining what is prismic.io, with much fewer text. Thanks for your suggestion.

We've answered most of your question in our blog, take a look at https://blog.prismic.io

It is very hard to talk technical specificities on the homepage while staying understandable for everyone. There is a big room for improvement for sure (and that's what we're targeting), so thanks for your feedback.

Also we'll keep working on our API and development kits documentation, any help is appreciated.

Our API has a cache forever semantics explained here https://blog.prismic.io/UzQYNwEAAGIjZ3UZ/immutable-documents...

It is a Restful API, that's why there is a single entry point, all follows programatically from there.

maybe this blog post can help https://blog.prismic.io/Ux-QjgEAAGMGit8h/writing-room-and-co...

Put simply, it is a backend called "Writing Room" for managing and structuring content, and an Restful API for developers to integrate this content in any technology (websites or apps).

sadache··on Writing Room and Content Query API, ideas for reshaping Content Management
Thanks for the feedback, this is something we are actually working on. Keep tuned :)

if you're interested, here is a blog post talking about the API availability https://blog.prismic.io/UlMRYknM0-kFs5Cy/how-prismicio-api-s...

Is your problem related to availability or continuity of the service? Things that could help their, a usable export for the first case. And an insight into the API architecture for achieving scalability and availability for the second.
sadache··on 99% pure approach to managing content in Javascript
pure approach?
sadache··on How prismic.io scales dynamic content as if it were static
Actually you're right. You can see the state of your website/app in the current version, in the future and in the past.
sadache··on How prismic.io scales dynamic content as if it were static
I guess as a SaaS company, you need to prove to your future users that you won't break their projects in different aspects. That is how we have got to use Github, Vimeo, Google Docs, ... etc
sadache··on How prismic.io scales dynamic content as if it were static
Yeah, persistent data structures, Git, Datomic, are the inspirations. Thanks for the heads up.

Hi guys,

Worth noting that prismic.io is created by the same creators of the http://playframework.org

sadache··on John Hughes on Why Functional Programming Matters
Well maybe the fact that I am choosing cool people to interview means I follow what they are doing. Can you be constructive and tell me where do you draw your conclusion from? Keep in mind that I am interviewing for a wide variety of audience, and that I can't all of a sudden ask about technical details of using Arrows for parsers. If you get some bits of interest out of the interview then this means that I did my job well, since you are not my only target audience.

I guess I better off doing these interviews since all what I get from it is these arrogant destructive comments. Thank you

sadache··on Joe Armstrong and Simon Peyton Jones discuss Erlang and Haskell
@jollojou I agree my question was confusing, maybe due to the fact that we had an offline discussion before about that so that I didn't communicate all the information. Thank you for your feedback, and I am glad you appreciate the interview.
sadache··on Joe Armstrong and Simon Peyton Jones discuss Erlang and Haskell
@roder as I stated earlier, I have a wide variety of audience, mainly enterprise devs that are interested also in Scala (which inspires a lot of its feature from both of the language). I guess Joe's statement about having interoperability breaks boundaries (see http://sadekdrobi.com/2009/09/27/a-piece-of-wisdom-by-joe-ar... ) is very important for decision of choice of programming languages. Also the fact that Scala is not a full Actor Model is interesting for audience of InfoQ. The User's Model is very important regarding programming language design since once you get to performance issues you need to look beyond this model to actual implenmentation (I guess you are aware of tutorials that oversemplify concepts like Monads and Lazyness to mention few). I am glad you found an interest in the interview, and thank you for your constructive critics.
sadache··on Joe Armstrong and Simon Peyton Jones discuss Erlang and Haskell
I am the interviewer, and I find it is kind of sad to have this aggresively negative reactions after all the work done for having this result that seem to be interesting for a lot of people. Maybe some questions do not interest you, but I have a wide variety of audience that I need to satisfy. Can you please precise what questions you felt irrelevant?
