sabhishek··on YCNews down?
I have backend access ;-)
sabhishek··on Meet the Next Billionaires
Wasn't this submitted long ago on on ycnews ?
sabhishek··on Goodbye, Hacker News. I'm going back to Reddit.
BTW nobody is posting porn here .. "whatever" is posted, is somehow related to startups/pragramming most of the times.
sabhishek··on What artificial stimulants do you use?
Green tea with fresh mint.. trust me folks it works and doesn't ruin your already exhausted nervous system.
sabhishek··on Dot Bomb 2.0 is coming
Yeah true, I agree. Call it resistance against change or little loyality, it takes some time to shift. Friendster is still #1 in Philippines.
sabhishek··on Biggest Mistakes You've Made?
Moonlighting for so long, the sin of sins.
sabhishek··on Dot Bomb 2.0 is coming
I don't know how much true is what your saying, a month back I switched to Facebook from Orkut and I find lots of ppl doing the same. Facebook is a clear winner thats why I joined in and if something better comes, I won't mind switching again.
sabhishek··on Adobe Scientist @ India: Advice to Young Programmers, A Speech A
well said.
sabhishek··on Quick Q
C++, Pascal will be of little help I'm afraid. Web developement can be broadly categoriesed into points as below, that you might want to learn.

Server side : PHP, JSP,ASP,Ruby. Presentation/Client side scripting : HTML,CSS,Javascript Backend: MySql, Oracle etc.

I suggest you to start a project and learn while you code, learning curve may be high for you depending on the level of exp you have.

sabhishek··on PG: Thinking of adding a search facility to news.yc?
Yeah, thats will be really a nice thing to have for ycnews. Looking for a piece in the archive is not convenient always.
sabhishek··on Is it bad if I don't want to work at a C++/Java startup?
It depends, If you don't like doing C++/Java don't go for that. imo don't force yourself to do anything you don't like for that matter. True that C++ is losing its sheen and Java is being called a new age Cobol , but they still dominate the scene, its a matter of personal preference.
sabhishek··on Which Y Combinator startup(s) have been the best source(s) of ideas for you (not necessarily ideas that you will pursue)?
For me it is the news..get the right buzz at the right time.
sabhishek··on Favorite PG essay?
http://www.paulgraham.com/nerds.html my all time fav.
sabhishek··on When did Facebook and LinkedIn become competitors?
You won't find ppl talking about the latest breast implant someone had, at linkedIn :-)
sabhishek··on Applications Open for Winter 2008 YC Funding
Absolutely rite.
sabhishek··on Applications Open for Winter 2008 YC Funding
How to react is something what you got learn at the first place.Apparently you have no idea what my reply was all about my friend.
sabhishek··on Applications Open for Winter 2008 YC Funding
People might ask you first if its ok to "telecommute" from India, before applying. I was not aware "asking" that may put them into "egregiously broken" category :)
sabhishek··on Applications Open for Winter 2008 YC Funding
I m still workin on my prototype :(, best of luck to all who are applying this time.
sabhishek··on Which Javascript framework you use ?
Sorry, looks like I missed that.
sabhishek··on Can India be next Y Combinator destination?
Thanks for the comment pg. I will apply for the next YC funding cycle, and will bother about the Visa and all after getting called :-).
sabhishek··on Can India be next Y Combinator destination?
Thats true to certain extent Jey, but not entirely. Lots of Indians are coming out with exciting ideas everyday, but we don't have a person like PG here who could give right advice at the right time and this causes more startups to tank :-).

Thanks for the comment.

sabhishek··on Can India be next Y Combinator destination?
Can you consider persons who could telecommute ?

Thanks a lot for responding.

sabhishek··on Can India be next Y Combinator destination?
What I wrote is what I meant .. :-) You are right Subhash unfortunately there's is no PG equivalent in India , and thats the point. Angel funding is not an issue, what PG advices is what that matters most.
sabhishek··on Paul Graham convinced me to drop out of school / quit my job [Vote up if true]
Hi, Is there anybody from India(preferably from HYD) or even US who can work with me as a co founder ? I am from India and unfortunately we don't have a PG/YC equivalent here, but still startupping from India has got its own advantages. I got the idea , am a software engineer and manage most of the things right. Reply back if sounds good.
