s9df898r32h··on Can we get more decentralised than the Fediverse?
One thing that pisses me off is that Google never implemented WiFi "Ad hoc" networking on Android (reducing the probably of decentralized networks taking off).

But I would also love to see something like this going.

To be more decentralized you could use radio waves outside of the Internet like LoRa to broadcast whatever you need to... maybe it could be combined with the Internet if it's available to increase distance.

Are you saying that web archive services are breaking copyright law? I would say it's fair use seeing how ephemeral the content is. It's a myth that Internet content last forever.

s9df898r32h··on Ask HN: Did you encounter any leap year bugs today?
thats better then Mistral... it "thinks" it is March 15th 2023

"The current date is March 15, 2023. However, please note that as a large language model, my knowledge is based on the data I was trained on, which is up to 2021. Therefore, I cannot provide real-time information or updates on current events or dates. I recommend checking a reliable source such as a calendar or a trusted news website for the most accurate and up-to-date information."

That's wrong because even coders can't write code without vulnerabilities inside their own software...

You probably instead should use a throwaway computer (or VM if you trust them), and not do anything personal on that computer, and then burn it.

I don't think I read the article... I think the article title dissuaded me to. (I read very few articles when the title suck.)

at least you wont get charged without your knowledge... which in the end, is the first step in getting this non-sense fixed, for a person... of course the government should fix it for everyone. This shit should probably be considered fraud anyways... companies get free passes all the time. My name (s9df898r32h) is my company, I should be able to steal whatever I want /s

Why are such large companies so incompetent though...

I pay $10/year for my VPS and host a WordPress Woocommerce store on it... It doesn't get much traffic, but it didn't take long to pay for itself either

Gemini is probably better than Google search...
