rzzzt··on House with 15m underground tunnels for sale for 300k
No worries, I take issue with the person who concocted the original title. I got here after the capital-M change and it was still confusing that they didn't mention the space that was dug out at this depth, instead paint a picture of a system of tunnels under a normal house(?)
rzzzt··on House with 15m underground tunnels for sale for 300k
The title is "not even" clickbait, just very confusing.

"The unique complex contains more than 1,300 square feet of underground space, including tunnels and storage rooms - and even a hand-built railway."

(Edit: I mean the original article, not the submission)

rzzzt··on A browser-native classic Visual Basic VB6 IDE
A copy of MSDN documentation was included on one of the DVDs for Visual Studio .NET's first release, so at least around that time offline mode was possible. I think I was reading those docs more than actually programming.

Four-letter acronyms or longer.
rzzzt··on Lab on a Contact Lens Can Measure Stress Through Serotonin
The article says it is inversely correlated with cortisol, the stress hormone thunderclap, but that is harder to measure through tear concentration.
rzzzt··on Lab on a Contact Lens Can Measure Stress Through Serotonin
My mom gets bombarded with ads selling non-invasive glucose monitors but the most plausible unit I have found uses lasers and has the size of a refrigerator, still in development.

I prefer fiery red when low serotonin is detected.
rzzzt··on My weird new hobby: Wandering around Tokyo on Google Maps
Not sure when this changed, but for me it only shows opening times for places for the current day only, if you want to see the rest of the schedule you have to log in.

rzzzt··on Why is the liver so weirdly regenerative?
"While questions remain regarding the precise extent, rate, and functional relevance of adult neurogenesis in the human brain, as well as important methodological considerations, multiple independent approaches now converge in support of its persistence throughout adulthood."

Toshiba's postal code reader from the late 60s is also Jev. Always has been.
rzzzt··on GPT-6 Astra has gained the ability to drive a car
Standard interstate highway. You see trees on the side of the road every 60ft. There is a car to your left, a car to your right, a car in front of you and a car behind you. A sign just off the rightmost lane says "Caution". A skeleton wrapped in cobwebs is reaching for a small pot of gold placed right next to it.

Are you me from the future? I'm not talking to future strangers. Tell me to deliver the bad news myself from the future, in the future.
rzzzt··on Tell the speakers that you liked their talks
It seems every question is great on the presentations I'm listening to, which is practically impossible. It's most likely a bell-shaped curve on the greatness scale. We should be hearing "that's a bad question" every now and then.

Four sail: the story is clearly about the Olivebank (née Caledonia), a four-masted barque that hit a mine and sunk in the North Sea in 1939.

"Welcome to Windows 98" with the church bell and sick bass intro can never be beaten. It's cut short unfortunately.
