rzendacott··on Justin Timberlake Made a Fortune Giving His Album Away
He and Jimmy Fallon did a History of Rap performance that is also pretty awesome. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2EPl0OGz2Cg
rzendacott··on What really happened at PyCon 2013
This is a pretty unrelated question, but how does one find out about these conferences? I typically only hear about them afterward (Heroku's Waza and now PyCon). Are there any that are known to be particularly good?

Additionally, any recommendations for which to try to attend as a first year computer science student?

rzendacott··on Linux Gamers Make Up ~2% Of Valve's Steam Users
Yup. I'm definitely included in this bunch. My graphics card (Nvidia Optimus) doesn't work on Linux, so I'd much rather dual boot and game on Windows.

I've just completed BerkeleyX CS169.1x (Software as a Service)[1] that teaches Rails and I haven't found it to be painful at all. I'm sure that I'm no expert, but I am competent enough to be building a Rails app of my own that utilizes most of the concepts in the OP. The best way to learn it (IMHO) is to just jump in and do a project, learning as you go. I can see how learning web development from scratch with Rails could be challenging, but that could be said for any web stack.

rzendacott··on How Stripe built one of Silicon Valley’s best engineering teams
As a C or D-tier school student, I'm jealous :p
rzendacott··on Rails Has Turned into Java
As someone who is just now learning Rails, I'm loving it. Is this an actual issue that should push me away from the technology? What other technologies are there that streamline the development process as much as rails?
