rysertio··on The Collapse of U.S. Healthcare – The Perspective of a Primary Care Physician
Well, you have closed borders and a non welfare state.
rysertio··on OpenAI's Woke Catechism
False dichotomy: censoring controversal topics from a text generation model that is expected to make mistakes is not denying science like 'Trofim Lysenko’s attempts to warp agricultural science to communist ideology'. And no one should take an AI generated text as fact. Chatgpt can say stuff like 'unicorns are real. Elephants can fly.' If the training dataset contains such fiction. You should be happy that chatGPT can at least give you some stats/factual data and not 2 paragraphs of gobbledygook.
rysertio··on Airlines lobbying FAA to have only one pilot in the cockpit
For passenger flights it's a big no. But for cargo planes it makes more sense to pilot the plane from the ground, like drones. Automating flights can have significant safety issues but piloting planes from the ground is widely used in military. So we might get away with remotely piloted cargo planes.
rysertio··on Airlines lobbying FAA to have only one pilot in the cockpit
But would that pilot have to be in the plane to fly it? We have been using remote controlled killer drones for years now.
rysertio··on AI will dominate the animation industry in less than 5 years
AI generated art is mostly bad and needs fixes. So artists will most probably going to start with an generated art instead of a blank canvas.
rysertio··on Why are male testosterone levels falling?
Exact opposite thing happened with me while being on estrogens. Right after couple of months I started my HRT I started to become extroverted. I was a very introverted kid that hated interacting with other people. After starting on estrogens I was kinda worried that I'd become more introverted over time. But nope. The exact opposite happened. I suddenly started liking the outside world more than before. I'd go to shopping with my friends, go to events, cons. stuff that I wouldn't even imagine doing before. I guess everyone responds to hormones differently.
rysertio··on Is Google getting worse? Why critics say ads, spam sites are killing search
What's even worse is this problem is not bound to Google. Almost all search engines delivering more and more unrelated results as time passes by.
rysertio··on Twitter Blue for $8/Month
I guess we'd need a couple of more ublock filters.
rysertio··on White House Is Mulling a Ban on Bitcoin Mining
> Digital goods are exclusively luxury goods

It depends on the digital good. In order to make essential necessities to anywhere near scale of our needs requires automation. So these digital goods are an essential precursor to our physical necessities. Maybe they don't need to be produced on the scale of physical goods but every essential industry such as food, water, medicine, and shelter depends on so-called digital goods.

rysertio··on White House Is Mulling a Ban on Bitcoin Mining
Bitcoin provides an easy way to send money across borders. It's a hellhole if you want to get money across by using traditional banking system, because there's a lot of debt involved and the fees just skyrocket.
rysertio··on Upscayl – Free and Open Source AI Image Upscaler for Linux, macOS and Windows
Well you can use the ncnn version that is the backend for this program. https://github.com/xinntao/Real-ESRGAN-ncnn-vulkan
rysertio··on Korea shatters its own record for world’s lowest fertility rate
I don't think low birth rates will be an end of the world. Birth rates and death rates naturally fluctuate. Just because the fertility rate is .8 doesn't mean it'll stay this way. When there'll be a need for people birth rates will go up. Automation, AI have reduced the number of people we need. So low birth rates aren't out of blue. It's just a normal reaction for a reduced demand for workers.
rysertio··on Korea shatters its own record for world’s lowest fertility rate
How many people would you need, in order to build robots? Not many, and most of it'll be automated anyways. And remember the birth rate is not 0.0 it's 0.8. So I think fewer people will be there because we don't need more people. Society will change to accommodate to low birth rates.
rysertio··on Joseph Stiglitz: 'We should shut down the cryptocurrencies'
Everyone is against cryptocurrencies, till they get their bank accounts frozen for no particular reason.

> SiValley is currently giving military grade tools too rapists and slavers and then saying that telling them to stop will result in 1984. Unfortunately we live in a world where most data that isn't E2EE is up for sale. Without making E2EE the default for all communication will result in anyone with money the power to know everything about your life. If E2EE is not the default 'poor young women' will be much more vulnerable now, because their abusers will have access to more information about them.
