rustoo··on N8n raises $180M
This is such great news.

My question to non-tech folks who used n8n, especially marketers: what has been your experience with n8n? Did it help you automate creative things like blogs, newsletters, white papers, etc? What tips would you give about n8n?

rustoo··on Ask HN: Why is Google search unusable lately?
Maybe they will have a major update soon that increases importance of sites like Reddit or HN or Stack overflow?
rustoo··on Every time you click this link, it will send you to a random Web 1.0 website

rustoo··on Things to argue about over the holidays instead of politics
That's a really great idea to make it fun. I will try that. I tried to ask for simplified answers but there were only slight differences!
rustoo··on Things to argue about over the holidays instead of politics
For those who are alone: Try posting each question from the list to ChatGPT.

For those who are meeting family: Use ChatGPT to prepare for your arguments.

rustoo··on Brave Search Goggles: Alter search rankings with rules and filters
exactly.. Even while reading, I tend to read it as Googles! :D The Brave team is indeed brave.
rustoo··on School closures led to more sleep and better quality of life for adolescents

rustoo··on New York City will make it mandatory for companies to post salaries on job ads
Out of curiosity: Why do such laws happen at state-level and not at federal level? Most jobseekers would be looking at jobs all over the country, correct?
rustoo··on Burnout from an Organizational Perspective
This is a great initiative. I hope the next phase of the website also has job openings for non-technical positions. All the best for this great initiative :)
rustoo··on Burnout from an Organizational Perspective
I hope all people start asking such questions. It will bring more accountability and will make it difficult for toxic companies to hide their issues.

Maybe candidates can start asking for a company's "resume"?

rustoo··on Why do Americans share so much fake news? One big reason is they aren’t paying
I agree. The submit page didnt allow me to add the full title. So I thought... why not :)
rustoo··on Microsoft apologises for feature criticised as workplace surveillance
Maybe Microsoft can actually use the data to create a feature to show if an employee is overworked or burnt out. That would be some good use of that tool.
rustoo··on Rosatom releases previously classified documentary video of Tsar Bomba nuke test
Q: What if this bomb was exploded below the ground, and not above?
rustoo··on Behavioral Ad Targeting Not Paying Off for Publishers, Study Suggests
this is quite interesting... here is the whole paper: https://weis2019.econinfosec.org/wp-content/uploads/sites/6/...
rustoo··on A Collection of Dev Checklists
It seems to be down. HN effect? :)
rustoo··on Ask HN: How to speak like a leader, not like an engineer?
Thank you! This is so helpful.
rustoo··on Paper Airplane Designs
This is such an awesome project :)
rustoo··on What to do when tech jobs go bad
This post would still hold true if replace the phrase 'tech jobs' with just 'jobs' :) Such a wonderful article on all things wrong at the workplace these days.
rustoo··on If all cars were autonomous
An alternate, better version: If all mass transit was autonomous
rustoo··on Side Project Marketing Checklist
Sorry!
rustoo··on A checklist of marketing ideas for side projects
An online marketing veteran here! This list is really good. I can actually help people here execute these to-dos for their side projects.
rustoo··on Side Project Marketing Checklist
It does help with SEO, if you give a link back to your site :)
rustoo··on Why an eight-hour bus ride from Los Angeles to San Francisco might beat a flight
Such buses are quite common in India too. Many people prefer sleeper buses even though the prices are similar to flights. One reason is that they have to travel to the airport (city a) and then travel from the airport (city b).

rustoo··on India, Once a Coal Goliath, Is Fast Turning Green
As an Indian, I'm really proud to read this. I'm hoping that they strategize this well and execute it well. India can easily harness wind and solar energy, create an really strong energy surplus and supply it to neighboring countries.

The whole region can benefit. India can be a beacon of peace and use it to stabilize the region and become a leader.

rustoo··on The rise of super-voting shares has given founders the ultimate job security
Maybe they can create a holding company (focusing on strategy) that is headed by Travis and under it put Uber (focusing on operations) headed by a new CEO. Something similar to what Google has done using Alphabet.
rustoo··on Uber's experiment in behavioral science to subtly entice drivers
I've observed this too, where the driver accepts your trip but he is yet to drop his current passenger. While this may be 'optimization' from a business point of view, it's actually bad from a user perspective. We have cancelled so many trips because there is a mismatch in the expected time of arrival! I have a feeling sooner or later they will have to either stop this or show longer wait times.
