russh··on Trigger warnings do not work, new study finds
Most of the "Trigger" warnings I've seen, seem to be there for the benefit of the writer so that they may signal their proper and approved virtue status to potential readers.
russh··on Animals are no less emotional than we are

russh··on Myequifax.com Bypasses Credit Freeze Pin
It has nothing to do with security only plausible deniability.
russh··on Launch HN: Cosmic JS (YC W19) - API-first drop-in replacement for WordPress
To me a drop-in replacement for wordpress is something I can put on a server and point it at an existing wordpress database and it will run.
russh··on Open-Sourcing Windows Calculator
But how can that be when "... the engineering lead owning conhost.exe: I can't find anything in our code that would trace user input, or data effectively derived from user input, to even a local event stream."
russh··on Think Dave Ramsey Gives Great Advice? Think Again
The author is being disingenuous for the sake of a blog post or does not understand the material.

For example:

"Personally, I think the $1,000 emergency fund is just too low. I understand why Dave advocates $1,000–it’s a small sum that most people can save in a short amount of time and is, in many cases, more money than they’ve had in savings ever. But, taken in the context of the next step, which is to pay off all debt using the snowball method, that $1,000 is probably not going to cut it, especially depending on how much debt you have and how long it’s going to take to pay that off."

The emergency fund is NOT for paying off debt it is for unexpected expenses.

russh··on U.S. users are leaving Facebook by the millions, Edison Research says
This is what I've done as well. Fake name, profile, wildly random answers to profile questions and thumbs up to anything if I remember of have times. I only use the account to follow a couple of local businesses. Facebook is welcome to all the income that account provides them.
russh··on Ask HN: Current and former FB employees, what's the other side to the story?

russh··on Why We Don't Like Our Underground House
"Who would have thought to buy flood insurance four a house high upon a hillside?"

Anyone buying a underground house, I would guess.

"When we first moved in, we ran the electric system for two weeks, nearly froze off our tail feathers, and paid double what we had been paying for natural gas heat in our previous home of 1,000 sq. ft."

Gadzooks a 2,500 sq. ft home with 14 foot domed ceilings cost double to heat then a 1,000 sq. ft home... The horror!

russh··on Volvo is introducing a 112mph speed limiter to all its new cars
You say that now, but when the old wooden bridge is out and the revenuers are hot on your tail, you'll curse the day you bought a car that was limited to only 112mph.

russh··on GitLab 11.7 Shipped with Releases, Multi-Level Child Epics, and NPM Registry
I have the same issue. Every once in a while the docker instance will get into a endless loop trying to start up and failing. So far the only fix I have found is to remove and recreate the instance. Still, I love having my own local GitLab.
russh··on Crapularity Aesthetics
They Yoko'ed that site way too far.
