rukshn··on SvelteKit 3
I was a long time Vue fan. I used svelte when it was V1 but the changes in V2 put me off. Where vue was stable.

But for my latest project I started using Svelte and I love it.

I love that stores comes out of the box and works well. No more callbacks for two way binding and Vue $emit hacks.

rukshn··on Ask HN: What are you working on? (September 2026)
Hi All working on an open source tool to manage knowledge base from one person (consultant/freelancer) to a organization. Built for both humans and Agents.

Currently building for myself and managing my own work with it, would vision something alternative for confluence.

Would love to have more collaborators helping to build an open source project - https://github.com/entangle-cloud/wave

rukshn··on The Nonfiction Book Market is Collapsing?
For the last couple of years I’ve only read non fiction. For me reading about real life events is far more entertaining and also a great learning experience that I can’t get from a fiction book.
rukshn··on How Europe is killing makers and micro-entrepreneurs
I feel Europe is a bubble waiting to burst.

Recently I was giving a lecture on digital health regulation and 90% of people were pro regulation in general not just for digital health.

It’s something hard for them to understand that too much regulation is not good and a balance should exist

rukshn··on Launch HN: OneCLI (YC S26) – OSS sandboxed agent harness for teams
This I fully agree. I think I was few who never wanted to try Open Claw or wanted to connect my accounts because I saw someone at Meta getting their emails deleted.

Then after I listened to Garry’s talk on Gbrain last week I thought why not give it a try.

So connected my email and calendar to a simple agent I built via MCP and I get a summery of important emails and also delete all non important ones.

Still a WIP: https://github.com/rukshn/zen

But I agree the space is very much crowded

rukshn··on Are we offloading too much of our thinking to AI?
This is something I see and feel everyday. And it’s very frustrating and annoying.

For example I send some doc asking for a feedback and someone without reading it generate a feedback with llm with so much ambiguity that I have to get back and wait couple of more days to get a reply.

One of the most silliest thing I see is a middle manager feeding Microsoft planner to Claude to generate a report and generate future steps and sometimes it makes no sense what he present couple of weeks ago because what he present today is contradicting to the one before.

At this point I feel it’s cheaper to replace them with AI. They are just physical vessels for AI.

It’s just not that maybe they were not good enough. But now they just fully depend on AI.

rukshn··on Turning a pile of documents into a searchable useable knowledge base
But how’d you access teams when it’s work teams and don’t have api access ?
rukshn··on Europe's company websites are mostly served by US vendors
I find the Europe's relationship with tech to be wired, there is one section that is hardcore-opensource fanatics, they want to host everything by themselves, and want to go through the trouble of keeping things updated, and would not want to use a close source tools even though they are developed by European counterparts.

On the other side there are people who are techy but happy to use US products, and when you pitch something European they would cite some tool that's better and bigger in US.

It's hard to find people who are in the middle who would like to pay and use a EU made tool.

Also processes take forever, and everything has to go through lot of meetings, and bureaucracy and red-tape and no one is willing to take a chance on a small startup.

rukshn··on GitHub bans security researcher who posted zero-day Windows exploits
I stopped reporting any security bugs I find in web apps because first time I did it I almost got arrested by the police.

The second time I did it they contacted my employer directly without even getting back to me saying they were unhappy of me reporting it and wanted to write about it after they fixed the issue.

Since then I decided it’s not worth all the hassle and I will let them be and I can also have a peaceful day.

rukshn··on OpenAI and Government of Malta partner to roll out ChatGPT Plus to all citizens
I’m now responsible for improving AI literacy in the organization I work.

But the people in charge just want the employees to just answer some questions so they can handover Claude or Chat GPT licenses so they can show people are using AI to improve productivity.

There are people who don’t know when to use AI and when not to use Ai and think they can just Claude their way through everything. I wanted to change that but when the whole idea is to just increase AI use I guess they don’t care about how AI is used.

rukshn··on Don't hijack my mouse pointer
Wow i didn't know Google did this as well, that's pretty sad.
rukshn··on Ask HN: How did you land your first projects as a solo engineer/consultant?
As a consultant I got my first project through a former colleague who referred me to the organization looking for a consultant.

It's not easy to find consultations out of the blue, I have gotten one by apply to a public call looking for a consultant that I am in the being interviewed process now, but referrals are far more easier.

rukshn··on Ask HN: What Are You Working On? (April 2026)
We are working on Entangle - https://entangle.cloud

developing AI agents that are easy to integrate in to websites, based in Europe and all data stored and processed in Europe to complying with regulations.

Looking forward to collaborations, and happy to talk with anyone would like to collaborate with us

rukshn··on The Grand Line
Why is it hacking the back button in my mobile safari browser? And why the title is different from the page?
rukshn··on Ask HN: What Are You Working On? (March 2026)
Happy March everyone,

I am working on Entangle, https://entangle.cloud something for me to learn and play with LLMs and AI.

It is not ground breaking but let your website to have an AI chat bot / agent with minimal integration effort. Also was a good way for me to learn how to keep things safe, prevent prompt injection etc.

Looking for feedback and feel free to give it a try, happy to try it with your project documentation or developer docs.

rukshn··on Apple, What Have You Done?
My MacBook Air complains about being low on storage, and when I check the disk usage (I have a 256GB version of M1), 15GB is used for Apple Intelligence, which does nothing for me, and there is no way to remove that.

rukshn··on Ask HN: What are you working on? (January 2026)
I am working on Entangle https://entangle.cloud a way to add AI powered chatbot to a website.

I looking mainly for European market that is willing to self host your content or the model on your own servers, we will provide the technical support in doing so that and easily plugin the AI powered search or chatbot to the website.

But it is also possible to use servers provided by us to host the content and the LLM models.

rukshn··on Oh My Zsh adds bloat
I switched to fish shell with star ship. Fish has autocomplete and syntax highlighting out of the box which is quite neat and the main features I use in omgzh so fish was a safe choice for me

rukshn··on Why Can't Gemini Generate Images with Transparent Backgrounds?
But it's very interesting that ChatGPT can generate with transparent backgrounds where Gemini continues to fails despite being considered as a better image generation model.

The removing background manually not the best approach because it leaves some rough edges and not as smooth as as generating an image with transparent background

rukshn··on I'm Kenyan. I don't write like ChatGPT, ChatGPT writes like me
No it was not like that. I assumed it was AI that was my interpretation as a human. And it was kind of a test to see what AI would say about the content.
rukshn··on I'm Kenyan. I don't write like ChatGPT, ChatGPT writes like me
I had a similar experience. We were talking about a colleague for using ChatGPT in our WhatsApp group chat to sound smart and coming up with interesting points. The talk sounds so mechanical and sounds exactly as ChatGPT.

His responses in Zoom Calls were the same mechanical and sounds like AI generated. I even checked one of his responses in WhatsApp if it's AI by asking the Meta AI whether it's AI written, and Meta AI also agreed that it's AI written and gave points to why it believes this message was AI written.

When I showed the response to the colleague he swore that he was not using ant AI to write his responses. I believe after he said to me it was not AI written. And now reading this I can imagine that it's not an isolated experience.

rukshn··on Show HN: My AI Native Resume
I guess we could write a whole thread on incompetent managers, I used to work with a manager who's only talent is rephrasing something someone else said in a more serious way, or just telling something in a whole list of buzzwords that make him look he's talking something serious. In-fact when it can be summarized in few simple few words. Apart from that he had zero technical knowledge, and I still wonder how he came to that position
rukshn··on Show HN: My AI Native Resume
I know some talented coders who were doing quite well before. Now they fallen into vibe coding and when I come across a bug they just introduced and I can’t seem to find the source they reply they have no idea but will have a look.

The decline in the skills are clearly visible. And they’ve only vibe coded under a year.

rukshn··on Coffee reduces risk of Type 2 Diabetes; okay to add cream, but not sweetener
Something that my medical professor used to tell us was that sugar and salt are man made things (processed sugar). And not something we found in nature and something that our bodies are not evolutionary developed to handle. So too much of salt and sugar was a good thing.

So which makes sense
