Would you still go for the .com? Because I feel all the .com domains are currently taken or parked by someone out there
And we have come back full circle
But I agree we should not categorize according to geolocation, but more transparency would be better irrespective of the location in any project.
But the whole system is mess. And the whole SMART guideline system is controlled by 2-3 gatekeepers who don’t listen to any ideas other than their own

Happy holidays
I have seen few startups even YC backed that didn't make it, I wonder why it's such a hard barrier to entry, even being a common problem everywhere
Also this is not the first time I'm seeing a universal search startups fail, some even YC backed. It sounds like an interesting idea, but why is it failing, I can't seem to figure out, maybe not enough market or adaptation?
Then marketers came, and the whole thing became a place where people just game, where people that I were preparing for weeks for PH launch, sending reminders for people to vote and try to get to the top. It became a place where people wanted to sell you something rather than people who share what they build.
Looking at this website, I feel like it's already a place where it's more about selling, and not a PH alternative. Black Friday deals, promoted items, it may not be a place of gamification, but still it's more about selling.
I would love to se a place where there is old PH. But I guess it will forever be Show HN
Few things, for me the domain name is difficult to remember
The page doesn’t fully scroll down for me and the discord button is not accessible on mobile
Other than that the site it nice
But is that good enough selling point?
What about having to send an email? Browse the internet like the comment I’m making right now
Let it be vertical tabs or smaller tabs like chromium
He made it to make his own life easier, and never considered any best practices, everything was a thousands of lines of jupyter notebook, it was not modular, painful to customize but just got the work done, and was kinda a black box in way the way it generated the outputs.
Since then we've tried to re-write it with good programming principles, but still we were not able to re-create what he did. So yah sometimes done is better than perfect.
Is there a way to fix it with some tweeking?

And also ThundeClient a VS Code extension when using VS code.
This gives a cursor (yes a windows like cursor) on your phone screen that you can move and click which imitates the touch.
I selected my files and sent it over to my computer with WiFi direct. I had to install a 3rd party app on my phone to act it as a server so I can connect from my computer and download.
There are plenty of apps like that on the play store. But I don’t know what I’d have done if the screen was completely broken.
In my case the screen was heavily cracked and touch wasn’t working but it was viewable.
No matter what people will change they will turn against you in a heartbeat. You never know when that will happen and you have to keep cards close to you. At least that’s what I believe.
Instead what I have are friends. I have equally similar relationship with them all, and maintain a relatively good distance.
I expect them to be loyal but at the same time I’m always ready for them to turn their back on me.
Also the people who are using Jekyll are mostly developers or have knowledge in setting up and generating the static files, so majority of the users are comfortable in hosting it on GitHub.
But it's an interesting idea, I wish you all the best.
I guess it’s too late for me to edit the comment now.
Well this was not completely built by me but I got help from 20 odd university students but I overlooked the project and did lot of coding myself. Even though it’s not used now since the pandemic has settled I’m happy what I have done.
Apart from not stored at a traditional "bank" I think most popular cryptocurrencies have the other 2 aspects. I know it's not accepted by amazon but there are some stores that accept payments.
I think the exchanges act as the "banks" and, I maybe wrong, therefore should be regulated like banks and not the blockchain and the associated technologies because you don't need an exchange to store the currency, you can use your personal wallet or cold storage to store the money.
But on the other hand you can always convert them to standard currency when you need it, so that is not an issue. I just want to have a way to send money across borders without censorship (and not for any criminal activities) because my government and PayPal and banks are not allowing it.
Also we can't hold USD due to government regulations, if we get the transfers via a bank, so every USD is converted to local currency which is getting devalued faster than USD.
Therefore for people like us the easiest way to get money is via the blockchain.
I think the problem is not with the technology but with people who used it to get rich quick by running these Ponzi schemes and used the technology to create things that doesn't improve the way we transfer wealth but instead used to invent NFTs which is again a get rich quick scheme.
I hope this does not mean the end of blockchain and crypto as a technology, but just as the bursting of the dot-com bubble, we will see some good companies and ideas emerging out of this crisis.
And most importantly I had only 7 days to develop it. And I just breezed though the frontend development thanks to tailwind which I won’t be able to do had I used a different framework like bootstrap or vanilla css
I think developers can select the features they want to use, and if they don’t want to use the new features they can just use the existing ones and leave the new ones alone.
For the moment I don’t find a reason to skip tailwind
