rtexal··on Show HN: Annotate PG, our YC application demo
You need to cater to people who doesn't want to share the full sentence. Allowing for inline editing in the overlay section might be great, or allow for selection of a partial sentence instead.
rtexal··on How to write css
Only 2 points? Nothing about LESS or SASS? ;)
rtexal··on I hired someone with Asperger's – now what?
Great tool!
rtexal··on I hired someone with Asperger's – now what?
Sigh, Gawker thrives on sensationalism. Luckily, based on the CNN article, it sounds more positive that Asperger is a syndrome and not a problem.
rtexal··on My Startup Failed. Fuck.
Your startup may have failed for other reasons. Just saw the promo video on your website, am not impressed. It actually looked like a parody video. And the reference to drugs (are you saying that all musicians take drugs?). NOT impressed. Product with maybe a good idea but seriously poor execution/marketing. Be more serious when doing a startup (unless your intention is to be less serious, ala 9gag) or risk being a terrible parody joke.
rtexal··on Hacker News Redesign
HN has a really nice hacker-ish design feel to it already so it's great. Just that it is not very tablet and mobile friendly with the really small buttons.
rtexal··on Google Drive Realtime API
Wondering if Google Keep (http://www.theverge.com/2013/3/17/4117780/google-keep-note-t...) is built on top this API ;) The API realtime capabilities will definitely drive interesting projects if Google Keep is just the start!
rtexal··on Chart.js - open source HTML5 charting library
Just curious as it seems pretty static; inputting values and outputting charts. Any capabilities to add interaction like selecting data points and analysing a particular point with it's other attributes that are not plotted?
rtexal··on Tell HN: My Web App has 13 Users
I am glad you launched! If I can just give my 5 cents here, it will definitely get you more users if you could summarise your test into easily readable point forms or short paragraphs to explain your product on your main website. Similarly, if you are sending out to your mailing list, you will want to keep it concise!
rtexal··on A new type of piano keyboard: The Seaboard
seems to have a learning curve as well with the need of a new benchmark in piano music academia if this device is to be mainstream.

I'll have to agree that it might just have to remain as a novelty for now.

rtexal··on Flat UI, mirrored
Pretty much true. FlatUI is great, but as a designer, you will want to build something more unique and while FlatUI could be a good start, it will not be the end product. For a developer, fast prototyping and building normally means that one simply utilise the top layer element from repo like this(FlatUI) and focus more on the underlying code.
rtexal··on Virtual lane graphics for swimming with CSS3
there are quite a few videos i see out there that place augmented objects in a video which moves accordingly to the shift of the camera. However that is not live. Combined with AR algorithms, I am pretty sure that this could be a kickass overlay for web live videos in the future.
rtexal··on Ask HN: Webdevs, designers: what devtools should we (Mozilla) build in Firefox?
Just thinking that debugging a huge DOM is a waste of time after each refresh. If there's a way to visually select/click elements on screen to directly zoom in onto the part of the DOM tree, that will be kickass.
rtexal··on Flat UI: Free Web User Interface Kit
The challenge for flat UI is to create depth and I love the depth you gave to the vector icons
