rsrsrs86··on ChatGPT won't let you type until Cloudflare reads your React state
Hi Nick, do you believe what you say? You scraped the shit out of everyone

rsrsrs86··on Ask HN: Is anyone here also developing "perpetual AI psychosis" like Karpathy?
Yeh the guy is going nuts. His whole job analysis thing is ridiculous. To me, it tells the guy has no critical sense, because this kind of paper would ruin the career of any economist.
rsrsrs86··on Meta and TikTok let harmful content rise to drove engagement, say whistleblowers
This has been known forever… they shouldn’t exist. Anyone shocked to know Zuckerberg’s company does it? The guy started by stalking and ranking girls at college FFS.
rsrsrs86··on Verified Spec-Driven Development (VSDD)
Real spec driven uses no tokens
rsrsrs86··on Verified Spec-Driven Development (VSDD)
It is very fluffy, but the idea of using formal methods works. It just never settles down… the workflow keeps improving and changing. You don’t need stable tools
rsrsrs86··on Verified Spec-Driven Development (VSDD)
I do exactly this. The database schema won’t change as often.
rsrsrs86··on Verified Spec-Driven Development (VSDD)
That’s how I do it, minus the marketing.
rsrsrs86··on A16z partner says that the theory that we’ll vibe code everything is wrong
As a researcher in formal methods, I totally get you
rsrsrs86··on A16z partner says that the theory that we’ll vibe code everything is wrong
Yes, 4GL and 5GL failed, but authoring Access applications should be a breeze now.
rsrsrs86··on A16z partner says that the theory that we’ll vibe code everything is wrong
The irony is, AI coding only works after and if you put a lot of work on engineering, like creating a factory.
rsrsrs86··on A16z partner says that the theory that we’ll vibe code everything is wrong
Sadly, this is the most serious comment here. People who are not shocked are people who haven’t seen what a highly educated computer scientist can do in single player mode.
rsrsrs86··on A16z partner says that the theory that we’ll vibe code everything is wrong
They don’t make money by being right, they make money by exposing LPs to risk. Zero commitment to insight. Intellectual production goes only so far as to attract funding.
rsrsrs86··on A16z partner says that the theory that we’ll vibe code everything is wrong
I hear and read so much shit by VCs. Both in LinkedIn and in private meetings. Specially Menlo says a lot of shit (check LinkedIn). Deloitte and McKinsey, also full of crap. Really.

Vcs are choke full of companies that can be cloned over night, SaaS companies that will face ridiculously fast substitution, and a whoooole lotta capital deployed on lousy RAGs and OpenAI Wrappers.

rsrsrs86··on University of Texas limits on teaching of "unnecessary controversial subjects"
Nazi states of America
rsrsrs86··on What functional programmers get wrong about systems
It’s like thinking a lot of McDonald chicken nuggets are as good as buffalo wings and eating a whole bucket to realize.
rsrsrs86··on What functional programmers get wrong about systems
ChatGPT is proud
rsrsrs86··on What functional programmers get wrong about systems
This makes no sense at all really.
rsrsrs86··on What functional programmers get wrong about systems
It’s convoluted because it’s slop. You can’t even be sure the text came out as intended. It is full of GPT style markers that tell me the author wasn’t careful enough in review. Jolting bullets in markdown and asking for a full article is not good enough for publication. It’s today’s version of let me google that for you. No one publishes half ass markdown notes for a reason. Asking LLM to finish it doesn’t cut it.
rsrsrs86··on AI fatigue is real and nobody talks about it
Article is mostly GPT vomit after a couple bullet pints. If it’s not as easy for others to tell I’ll stay my blade runner style shop that tells who NOT to hire
rsrsrs86··on AI fatigue is real and nobody talks about it
I can’t take seriously an article on AI written so obviously using AI. The unmistakable (lack of) style. If the author is not even aware that the rhetoric that GPT produces is unvaried and predictable, how can I believe the author really means what they write? Slop is cancer
rsrsrs86··on Ask HN: It's 2030 – JavaScript has been deprecated by a new language. Which one?
Wasm.
rsrsrs86··on OpenAI's Board: 'To Succeed, All We Need Is Unimaginable Sums of Money'
And compute.
rsrsrs86··on Training LLMs to Reason in a Continuous Latent Space
If ASI is artificial specific intelligence, I bet your pardon; intelligence can hardly be specific. Intelligence can reflect upon itself.
rsrsrs86··on Training LLMs to Reason in a Continuous Latent Space
They have never been thinking. This is important.

Predicting the next word is not intelligence.

rsrsrs86··on Training LLMs to Reason in a Continuous Latent Space
Well, if you consider the case of a linear regression, fitting on your output will add no new information to the weights. Try that on any notebook.
rsrsrs86··on Training LLMs to Reason in a Continuous Latent Space
Please spread the word that predicting the next one is not intelligence. It’s markov…
rsrsrs86··on Training LLMs to Reason in a Continuous Latent Space
I feel abdominal pain when I see the words “thinking” or “reasoning” related to LLMs.

I feel back pain when I read the crazy, unsound speculation about how the brain is supposed to be like a computer. Serious mistake.

rsrsrs86··on Amazon Nova
Lol

What’s the subnet of the security group of my user group for Aws lambda application in a specific environment that calls kms to get a secret for….

rsrsrs86··on What Is a Staff Engineer?
I’ve held the staff engineer title some times and when the company did so my role was to be a sort of backup if some team could not solve something. When I was not allocated to a specific team I collaborated with other engineers on specs and higher level planning. We also worked on internal libraries and tools.
