Didn't think about this. Smart comment.
rreichman··on Will Cloudflare R2 Win Customers from Amazon S3?
Cost of moving data out of the network. See https://aviatrix.com/learn-center/cloud-security/egress-and-...
rreichman··on So you want to compete with Roblox
This is funny because Amazon just released a massively successful game.
rreichman··on Uber Drivers Sue Company over Pressure to Support Prop 22
The companies aren’t unprofitable by design, that has been repeatedly disproven. Their service is profitable in many cities.

Prop 22 makes sense exactly because those things shouldn’t be tied to employment. The state should tax businesses more and offer the benefits itself.

rreichman··on Uber Wasted $2.5B on Self-Driving Cars
Bad headline.
rreichman··on Ask HN: What Happened to Larry Page?
Huge if true
rreichman··on Apple apologizes to WordPress, won’t force the free app to add purchases
The only way forward is to avoid Apple products. Some are truly great but if you care about freedom and the open web we must avoid Apple.
rreichman··on Uber, Postmates Agree on $2.65B All-Stock Deal
Weird that people keep saying that food delivery can't be profitable when Grubhub has already been profitable and only became unprofitable due to the Doordash/Uber Eats price user acquisition wars. It's the same thing that happened in ride-hailing, which already proved to be profitable.
rreichman··on Never Hertz to Ask
This is silly. Snap's free cash flow is constantly growing and was close to zero the past quarter. Uber & Lyft are generally profitable on rides and with a bit more scale will be GAAP profitable.
rreichman··on US Army scraps $1B Iron Dome project after Israel refuses to provide source code
Tell that to American Defense companies and they'd go crazy. They benefit most from the arrangement.
rreichman··on Google is not a search engine, but an ad engine
Competition is literally a click away. The truth is that Google is the best so people are willing to put up with the shitty ads on some searches.
rreichman··on Sundar will be the CEO of both Google and Alphabet
people asked the same thing about facebook in 2008
rreichman··on Uber Posts $5.2B Loss and Slowest Ever Growth Rate
What’s the alternative? Owning a car? Walking? The terrible transit?
rreichman··on The state of Sam Altman's Bubble Bet, 1 year before deadline
I think the bet was agreed to be settled on public information published before Jan 1 2020
rreichman··on Sim2Real – Using Simulation to Train Real-Life Grasping Robots
I found this paper to be very cool. Happy to answer any questions you may have on it.
rreichman··on 305 Russian GRU operatives unmasked because they registered their cars to GRU HQ
Occam's Razor says they acted dumbly. But perhaps.
rreichman··on Sweden ends contract with Elsevier, moving for open access for science articles
Over time I believe more content will be published in open access journals. In Machine Learning this is already quite common and it's amazing.
rreichman··on Sweden ends contract with Elsevier, moving for open access for science articles
We gotta stop enabling them. If we demand that publicly funded universities adopt open access Elsevier will be gone in a few years. And of course I'm not recommending Sci-Hub because it's illegal but worth mentioning it...
rreichman··on Dropbox S-1
Nope. You're thinking about Stripe

rreichman··on New study finds the best time to book a flight
TLDR: For internal flights - 3 weeks to 3.5 months before flight For international flights - 2 months before flight

Interestingly, it's often cheaper to order a ticket 2 months in advance than 10 months in advance.

rreichman··on Bitcoin crosses $1,800 for first time, adding $3B in market cap in just 4 days
Isn't really hard to say what the "real" value of Bitcoin should be? I mean what are the fundamentals?
