rosgoo··on Ask HN: I'm in a position to move to anywhere in the USA, where should I go?
New Hampshire fits all your criteria. 1. Relatively affordable especially outside tourist areas 2. 90min of Boston, a big tech hub 3. No extreme heat, decent rainfall, tons of outdoor activities and nature. Ocean, Mountains, Forests 4. Not too far from DC 5. No income tax

As you probably know, South Carolina or North Carolina also fit all those criteria but might be too hot.

rosgoo··on Why is LinkedIn so cringe?
I actually am working on a minimalist LinkedIn alternative because I was so fed up with it: Learn more here! https://leapful.dev/
rosgoo··on Don't make me think, or why I switched to Rails from JavaScript SPAs
I think https://blitzjs.com/ exactly tries to bring Ruby on Rails convenience to js apps and makes all the decisions for you.
rosgoo··on Show HN: A simple tool to help filter recruiter spam
I'm trying to solve the same problem with https://leapful.dev/ that I'm currently working on! It's like a minimal LinkedIn alternative + "reverse job search" where you input job criteria and only get jobs that match those. Let me know your thoughts!
rosgoo··on A minimalist LinkedIn alternative for engineers. Thoughts?
Hey everyone! I'm currently building a minimalist, privacy-focused LinkedIn alternative for software engineers:

- Only connections can message you

- Find your next role on your terms: specify your criteria, no recruiter spam, vetted jobs.

- Connecting and following activity are decoupled, only see what you want to see and reduce the noise.

- Privacy focused, open-source, no Google Analytics

What are your thoughts? Would this be valuable to the community?

The landing page is here while I build this! <www.leapful.dev>
rosgoo··on Ask HN: Do you have to use LinkedIn to get hired?
I'm actually currently building a LinkedIn alternative to fix a lot of the pain points in this thread: https://leapful.dev/

- Minimalist social network for engineers: no feed, no messages from anyone not in your network.

- Input ideal job criteria and get matching and vetted job requests with standardized fields instead of paragraphs of texts from random recruiters.

- Private, no Google Analytics, and open-source.

rosgoo··on Ask HN: What are some other general link aggregators aside from HN?
https://unfeeder.com/ is pretty good.
rosgoo··on Show HN: All of Hacker News directly in Slack
Hey everyone, I built Digest about a year ago because I wanted a quick and easy way to check Hacker News from Slack. I hope some of you find this useful!
rosgoo··on SourceClicks: The easiest way to monetize your open source code
Hi everyone, I've been working on SourceClicks (https://www.sourceclicks.com) which is a marketplace that lets open source developers easily add a sponsored banner to their Github README by connecting them to companies interesting in advertising on those READMEs. Would love your feedback!
rosgoo··on Show HN: A slack group to help you make your next tech career move
Hi everyone! I made this Slack group where people in tech can help each other with their next career move. Let me know what you think!
rosgoo··on Show HN: The only HN client in Slack
Hi everyone, I wanted a more convenient way to check HN throughout the day and I always have Slack open so I built Digest to do just that :) let me know what you think!
rosgoo··on Show HN: A Hacker News Client in Slack
Hi everyone! OP here. I've been working on a Hacker News client Slack for the past few weeks as I spend a lot of time on both Hacker News and Slack:) Digest just got officially approved for the Slack App Directory, and let's you browse all the main HN feeds without ever leaving Slack: News, New, Best, Ask HN, Show HN, Jobs.

Please let me know what you think!

Thanks!
