rogerdoger123··on Ask HN: What do you think about “The Social Dilemma”?
The problem is that many people, including my wife, are OK being shown ads. After watching the documentary, I uninstalled Instagram and logged off Facebook as I hated the thought of being manipulated. My wife (and her friends for that matter) though concerned over the impact to kids, was back on Instagram about an hour later. "I'm ok with all these ads, some are useful".

So though it should help parents navigate this better for their kids sake, I'm not sure it will impact everyone as much as we think it might.

Jot Dot - Its a note taking tool I wrote based on workflowy's style of hierarchical bullets l, but I wanted to allow multiple documents and public sharing of notes (eg. My favorite Netflix shows or management notes etc.).

This link takes you to the public notes section. Not released yet so it's just my notes for now.

rogerdoger123··on Google just deleted my nearly 10-year-old free and open-source Android app
I have a very similar story. I had an AdMod ad running on my free app, and all of a sudden the account was deleted in a few hours just before it was time to get my earnings. Google had no responses and were unreachable and I just gave up.

After this I found this has happened to 1000s of people and I realize how massively powerful this company is and they're using AI/bots to make decisions. I've now moved away from Google as much as I can and I warn others of their monopolistic practices and lack of care toward customers.

thanks. I've had lots of students and new graduates ask me about career options - so i thought this might help.

That's actually intentional to avoid infinite loops in the graph, I have to add an integer to common titles. Thanks for the feedback, its obvious now that this may be confusing as I don't explain it.
