rnotaro··on The Google Play app review process now regularly takes longer than a week
It's coming soon. Android have been pushed to accept third-party app stores.

rnotaro··on The Google Play app review process now regularly takes longer than a week
I personally have a TrustedWebActivity. Most update doesn't need a review because I only need to update server-side. Behave like a PWA while being an Android App. (And you can implement Android Auto, other native stuff)

It allows the users to discover my web app through the Google Play Store. My app was also available as a PWA but I mostly push the TWA currently.

I suspect the same issue; I added Android Auto to my application on the latest release and the version I pushed on Sept 3th is still under review.
rnotaro··on Minecraft: Java Edition now uses SDL3
I'm absolutely angry at Microsoft that decided that they could just take away my MC license.

Bought the game in 2020, played a few sessions then forgot about it. When I tried to play again a few months ago, I learned that they migrated accounts to microsoft.

Since I didn't migrate in time, I just lost my license and need to buy the game again. [1]

>As the migration period has ended, Minecraft Support will no longer assist with migration-related queries. > >To continue playing Minecraft, you can purchase both Minecraft: Java Edition and Minecraft: Bedrock edition as one product on the Xbox Store or explore Different Minecraft Editions for other platforms.

rnotaro··on Developers don't understand CORS (2019)
I'm pretty sure they understand that since they wrote that the resources will need to be proxied.

They just want to prevent hotlinking/leeching.

Personally, I've mislabeled the one with the animal in the restaurant as AI generated. I might have clicked too quickly because it was looking like the animals trampolines video's. I've not really looked at the timestamps.

I'm generally good at detecting AI generated content but I might have a few false positives. :)

I believe that's happening more often than before but it's probably not always documented.

Last summer, a 25 year old crypto influencer got kidnapped and his body was found in my neighborhood a few months ago. [1]

Kia Seltos also had a recall this year for 2021-2023 cars because AWD control unit under the driver's seat may become contaminated by a mixture of salt and moisture inside the vehicle and catch fire.

rnotaro··on Google OAuth is broken (sort of)
I used to have a google account with my personal domain then I registered to Google Workspace 4-5 years ago. Since then, I have this message when I log in :

> Your account has been modified. > The address user@domain.com is no longer available because an organization has reserved rickynotaro.com. Why is this important now? > > Don't worry. Your data is safe. To use them, you must create an account with a different email address. Your password and security settings will remain unchanged.

> Account details > > What type of account do you want to use? > > An account with Gmail and a new Gmail address > Select this option to add Gmail to this account. Unfortunately, we cannot move your data into an account with an existing Gmail address. > > Account using an email address belonging to you, not linked to Google. Ex.: myname@yahoo.com > Choose this option if you want Google products except Gmail. > Btn_Continue Btn_Do_it_later Not sure what to do?

I've been pressing "Do it later" for years. I'm still using this account for youtube, maps and other services.

I should probably use a secondary domain and use this address.

Some service prevents me from changing my email address when signing with google and weird behavious happens when it tries to use my user%domain.com@gtempaccount.com

Google documents it here: https://support.google.com/accounts/troubleshooter/1699308?h...

rnotaro··on DuckDuckGo email protection beta now open
I personally pay 10$ a month for GSuite basically to handle the mail of my personal domain name. Is it worth it? I'm not sure yet but I had way to much issues with email not delivered in the past (blacklisted IP ranges, reputation, etc.) when I had my own mail server.

I prefer paying 10$ a month and forget about mail server issues and wondering if my mail is going to the spam folder..

rnotaro··on How I regained concentration and focus
On most recent version of Android, they have a whitelist feature where repeat callers (2 times withing 15 minutes) can bypass DoNotDisturb.

Only my close family are whitelisted.

Most time people call twice during an emergency. You could also say to call back again in case of emergency in your voicemail message.

rnotaro··on Feeling uncomfortable when leaving phone at home shouldn't be normal
Before the pandemic, I went to Japan for 3 weeks and my cellphone was absolutely a lifesaver.

I went to a lot of city where I would have been lost without Google Lens, Google Maps, HyperDia for trains, "Japan Official Travel App", etc.

But with it, I've traveled accross less touristic cities and I was feeling confortable visiting local places without ant knowledge of the Japanese language beside a few words.

I would never dare to do that without my phone.
