rngesus··on Show HN: Tile38 – Realtime geofencing and geospatial index
It's nothing too special, we collect positional information from several devices and feed it into Tile38 which then processes the geofences and delivers the enter/exit/inside notifications trough webhooks.

It's been rock-solid and easy to work with.

rngesus··on Show HN: Tile38 – Realtime geofencing and geospatial index
Tile38 is a great product, we've been using it in production to track, and manage geofences for a large amount of asphalt and cement trucks :)
rngesus··on Should I really avoid OVH for production app?
I've used OVH for more than three years professionally for both production and development applications without any issues or problems.

Their customer support is indeed quite ever so lacking, but you generally never need them unless you run into a issue with the hardware, or the network.

rngesus··on GitHub Code Search limited for logged out users
I found a recent thread about this here: https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=12439499

It seems that Github Code Search no longer functions as it used to function for logged out users, which is quite interesting so to say.

rngesus··on Linux can’t be installed on a recent Lenovo laptop
This sounds like "linux kernel missing support for some new proprietary intel device"

I'll see if i can pick one of these up on my way home and do some testing :)

rngesus··on Show HN: Logtrail – A Kibana plugin for logs that clones the Papertrail UI
By the looks of it, this seems to be a bit more flexible than the default table view, i might be wrong however because i never touched those.
rngesus··on WaveNet implementation in Keras
To my understanding - WaveNet itself is quite resource heavy to run see this thread: https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=12501204

I'm looking forward to seeing faster implementations in the future, playing around with this looks like a lot of fun.

rngesus··on Researchers achieve speech recognition milestone
The paper itself can be found here https://arxiv.org/pdf/1609.03528v1.pdf quite interesting to see that the failure rate is lower than the average human failure rate, can't wait to see how this will improve over the coming years.
rngesus··on The Truth About Pepe the Frog and the Cult of Kek
Quality meme, top kek. I'm doing this right, yes?
rngesus··on Umbra Privacy Platform
I was just about to post this, I'd love to see someone audit their codebase all these claims are super cool and all, but things like these really make it hard to take them serious.

Especially when issues like these: https://github.com/shadowproject/shadow/issues/25 pop up.

"There is no way to contact you on the bug bounty program"

rngesus··on Show HN: Hacker News electron app with improved readability
So, unless I'm mistaken here, this is merely a electron shell around HN with some added CSS?
rngesus··on How do I give our security auditor the information he wants? (2011)
Dangerous, especially the request(s) for plain-text passwords.
