rmelhem··on Show HN: Using stylometry to find HN users with alternate accounts
cool and thanks for the clarification. i ask that mainly because of the request limit of openai, which is something that makes many scalable ideas unfeasible
rmelhem··on Show HN: Using stylometry to find HN users with alternate accounts
nice one. are you using gpt3 under the hood?
rmelhem··on Chick Corea, Groundbreaking Jazz Pianist, Dead at 79 – Rolling Stone
Oh thats dope, will read it! and I'm pretty sure I read your blog once, because of the pianojacq! obs: i'm planning a visit to Amsterdam this year because a conference of recommender systems, so will for sure visit the museum if I'm able to go there. thanks!
rmelhem··on Chick Corea, Groundbreaking Jazz Pianist, Dead at 79 – Rolling Stone
yes, I completely understand your point. i'm a huge fan of Erik Satie for example and I'm lucky enough to be able to play 4 of his songs on the piano. I'd love to - at least - hear him playing his own compositions, but ofc it's impossible lol.
rmelhem··on Chick Corea, Groundbreaking Jazz Pianist, Dead at 79 – Rolling Stone
was just telling my wife few days ago that my dream was to watch him live one day. it's just sad that it won't be possible anymore.
rmelhem··on How to increase your luck surface area (2010)
yep, i suddenly felt in love with music after my dad passed away - was in college studying materials engineering, and made a living out of music for 6 years (until the pandemics)
rmelhem··on How to Become a Data Engineer in 2021
where I work for, our stack is all about GCP/Airflow/Python/BigQuery ML, for recommender systems. I'm now playing around with Turicreate (Apple) to compare with BQML.
rmelhem··on Ask HN: Who's looking for a co-founder?
thats really cool. I'd like to help somehow, being a volunteer if needed.

rmelhem··on Ask HN: Is there a note taking app you're 100% happy with?
Lol, yep. I always use my gf for that purpose and vice-versa.
rmelhem··on “Odd Radio Circles” have astronomers excited
KIC 11145123 is a good example.
rmelhem··on Ask HN: Am I too late for the “Data Science” wave?
"However, for a data science beginner, SQL is the best place to start."

I totally agree with that statement. Being a beginner myself in the DS field, I'm living through this right now in my job. And, as a plus, working with SQL everyday is also helping me a lot to have different perspectives in handling the Python/Pandas DataFrame.

rmelhem··on Bead Sort
sorry if its offtopic but does anyone here have any experience with librarysort?

rmelhem··on Show HN: Fast Open-source autograder for coding problems (Django)
really nice man! yesterday I was wondering how to create an autograde for some simple thing I want to do. and as a coincidence i'm just starting to learn Django so I'll try to use it in my project. Thanks a lot!

rmelhem··on Show HN: Math to Code – Interactive NumPy tutorial for engineers
amazing! i love interactive (and free) tutorials. I'm blogging every free resource I can in the data science roadmap. Will include yours as well. Anyone have any other tool like that for Numpy? I figured out one for SQL called sqlbolt.com, which is dope too!
rmelhem··on Show HN: Generate piano songs and sheet music with Music Transformer
Really nice. I have a particular curiosity on this topic because I am studying data science with machine learning and until the covid19 pandemics started, I had a small business where I made music to free big chains/retail shops from paying music copyrights. I wonder where all this AI/Machine Learning thing will take music (and the business) to.
rmelhem··on Show HN: C0D3 – A free, interactive site to learn coding
man, we definitely need more initiatives like this, the pandemic ended my small business and I no longer have a source of income. learning programming is my only hope at this moment and I'm sure there are more people in the same situation. A free and dedicated course to the community is all we need right now. Please count on me for anything you need and I can collaborate. Already signed up!
rmelhem··on Study of the effect of Vitamin D, Magnesium and Vitamin B12 on Covid-19 patients
cool, that's great. will check it, thanks!
rmelhem··on Study of the effect of Vitamin D, Magnesium and Vitamin B12 on Covid-19 patients
just a personal note, I had many many respiratory tract problems - tonsillitis, flu, cold, at least 3 times a year. I always thought it was something natural, given the seasonality of these diseases, especially in winter. but after a routine blood test, my doctor prescribed vitamin D because mine was way below recommended. since 2017, when i started taking vitamin D supplementation, only a mild flu is what I had in 3 years, so to me that article is no surprise, of course in a personal experience level.
rmelhem··on This DX7 Cartridge Does Not Exist
wow really nice! will try it later. that topic made me join to do my first comment on HN lol. I wonder if there are many music producers around here? would be nice to exchange some ideas :)
