I say it the American way when I speak English anyway because that's just how it is. :)
My favorite is probably crepe, which Americans pronounce like an almost diphthong-y craype (or crape like grape I guess) when crep (like step) would do just fine and be closer to the original.
But as a native French and basically-native American speaker, I also couldn't really care less about it, or about things like Americans pronouncing the t in croissant, or French people being unable to say the.
This comment is just so much, all by virtue of caps lock.
That's because both ends are wrong. Eggs should be cracked from the side.
Can't believe this still needs to be said on this forum in 2026.
I disagree. It has gotten me to being entertained.
I lack the context and knowledge to understand how this would work, but I am curious (enough to ask but not enough to google it, admittedly).
But obviously, I meant confiture.
Double whammy, I guess, because I also always downvote comments asking (or complaining) about a parent comment getting downvoted.
The number of comments I see complaining about "it's not this, it's that" and other "LLMisms" definitely frustrates me more than the original content.
At least, in France we'd also have the difference between configure and gelée.
I guess it's supposed to convey that it's not the laid-off folks' fault, and that it was "his decision", but as you said: "taking full responsibility" without any real impact to his life? I may as well take full responsibility for the layoffs. It'd mean just as much.
I used Zen for a while (and Arc before that). I didn't get what was particularly novel about either. My browsing did not feel revolutionized.
What have I not been getting?
Edit: I realize it may not come across as one but this is a genuine question.
Is that not confirming that Gen X (1965-1980, so ages 44-59 in 2024) was the most pro-Trump?
I'm not a parent, but I can imagine that if some of my schedule had to change by 30 minutes some months out of the year, I'd find it more inconvenient.
What if school starts/ends at a different time but my job does not?
What if I have a standing appointment at a business that keeps its hours year round that now conflicts with one that changed to winter hours?
It seems more like a different set of problems than a solution.
"The best way to get someone to read something is to post a TL;DR that seems like it can't be right."
I stopped using it, though, and I can't honestly say I've missed it. It was nice not having sponsored results, I guess, but overall it didn't feel like a transformative experience.
So, I guess it's more along the lines of "when your business is weirdly named water, you come up with weird products" which, actually, kinda makes more sense.
