rishikeshs··on How Kerala got rich
Never thought a post about Kerala will reach the front page of HN.
rishikeshs··on Ask HN: How to get reliable live sports data?
I was looking for live score data. Not sure how I can get that from discussions
rishikeshs··on Ask HN: Good examples of ASCII data visualization?
wow this is so cool
rishikeshs··on Ask HN: Good examples of ASCII data visualization?
Thanks a lot for this!

Yes the site was inspired by plaintextsports.com and I have credited them as well!

One thing I decided was I will use only ASCII and will stay away from unicode chars. But now when I’m trying to plot a wagon wheel or a heatmap, it’s becoming tricky. i will update you once I have something solid!

rishikeshs··on Ask HN: Good examples of ASCII data visualization?
Is gnuplot plain text ascii?

do you mind sharing the link to ploot?

Haha great implementation! I also have a similar one on my blog called: Useless Button[1]. This one is implemented with CF Workers as the backend.

This button has been clicked 2475 times for no reason.

rishikeshs··on Show HN: iOS app that corrects your form in real time using your phone's camera
Hi OP!

Great work, will try it out and get back to you!

I also wanted to build something similar but never implemented it fully!

The main problem I faced was, how do I get training data that represents correct form. Also when I started, I wanted to train it on compound lifts like deadlift, benchpress and others. But as someone else suggested, form is quite subjective and lot of videos vary a lot! How did you tackle this? Also for form checking, do you depend on things like knee ankle, slacking etc?

rishikeshs··on Ask HN: What do you use for analytics for a statically generated website?
Goatcounter
rishikeshs··on I've been using Claude Code for a couple of days
+1 Cline is the best. I've tried it with openrouter!
rishikeshs··on Ask HN: in 2025 Which project does not have any good open-source alternatives?
https://www.mytinytodo.net/

I have been using this!

rishikeshs··on Ask HN: Why do some posts on HN not have a user/submitter?
Yes! Its weird. Who posts these?
rishikeshs··on Ask HN: Why do some posts on HN not have a user/submitter?
This is so weird! So this was the whole point of HN! A funnel!
rishikeshs··on Ask HN: Are prompts becoming the new IP?
I'm not sure. But I have seen people storing prompts in secrets and env variables

rishikeshs··on Show HN: I made a website where you can create your own "Life in Weeks" timeline
Loved it! Is the code publicly available? When I built mine[1], I did the mistake of keeping each row as 26 weeks and 2 rows roughly as one year of life. This causes some rounding errors! Loved this design as its responsive.

Question: The wider cells, do they represent one week and its simply wide just to fit in the text?

Great idea!
rishikeshs··on Winners of the $10k ISBN visualization bounty
Ok so from what I understood, this visualisation displays all the ISBNs that are assigned into countries, then across publishers. Books that are not highlighted are the ones that are not present on Annas Archives? Is that so?

Also what do you mean by unassigned?

rishikeshs··on Winners of the $10k ISBN visualization bounty
Noob here, but can someone explain like im fivr, why this is important? It looks beautiful nevertheless
rishikeshs··on Ask HN: Are we all starting to sound like AI?
I also do this these days!
rishikeshs··on Ask HN: Are we all starting to sound like AI?
Interesting thought! I'm not familiar with Harold Bloom's works, but can you share the book title? I see a bunch of books by him!
rishikeshs··on Ask HN: Are we all starting to sound like AI?
I think ChatGPT was trained on your writing! :)

How do you type em-dash on a keyboard?

rishikeshs··on Show HN: While the world builds AI Agents, I'm just building calculators
I started something similar recently: https://calcbun.com

They key is finding unique calculators.
