ricardonunez··on Mike Tomlin spent 12 years building a Minecraft city
I find funny how I had the same reaction as you and many people here. My other thought was, wait didn’t he retire only last year? lol
ricardonunez··on I spent $220 on Google app ads and 60% of the installs were robots
I agree but that will eliminate a big cash cow for them.
ricardonunez··on How we used to get jobs: A newspaper classifieds story
This but after going inside the building without authorization and saying you will not leave without a job.
ricardonunez··on US beef prices have soared but farmers aren't making more money
I work with contractors and my family own a GC company. After Covid, construction material prices increased a lot due to multiple reasons like supply chain issues, and high demand from the housing boom. Lumber, fencing materials, and steel products were all affected. Although some prices have go down from their peaks, many never returned to pre-2020 levels, so products like fence posts and barbed wire are still expensive.
ricardonunez··on Stolen Buttons
I love those versions, they were really innovative at the time.
ricardonunez··on Claude Sonnet 5
I am in the same position. Do you think they are going to remove it and deprecate it as some point?
ricardonunez··on Chrome is looking to permanently drop MV2 extension
I used to have Phoenix in a zip disk to use it every time I will go to my college computer lab. Good times.
ricardonunez··on Your ePub Is fine
what’s he is referring is the editor and the easy way of drawing things, still agree we can do things today but a easy to draw editor like that is missing. I was a fan of flash and fireworks.
ricardonunez··on Developer gets Half-Life running at 30 FPS on a Nokia N95
Have you checked the fair phone?
ricardonunez··on Anyone can build a platform now. Almost nobody can get people to find it
I was going to point out that the Claude was trademarked, it didn’t cross my mind that it was by design.
ricardonunez··on Ferrari Luce
yeah, I don't know what was the goal here. I was expecting a regular Ferrari but electric, like the Tesla Roaster type of car.
ricardonunez··on Does anybody like React?
I like react over angular and vue over react.
ricardonunez··on The Lottery – Shirley Jackson (1948)
The lottery: and other stories https://archive.org/details/lottery00jack/mode/1up
ricardonunez··on Italy moves to Airbus A330 tankers
The Boeing issues started 20 to 25 years ago, it just take a long time to become this bad.
ricardonunez··on The Death of the Brick and Mortar Toy Store
I always wanted to open an indie book store + coffee shop and had a similar analysis. I read recently they are having a come back.

Barnes and noble is opening in my city after a decade ago books a million closed and our local indie closed during Covid.

ricardonunez··on Jeff Bezos says bottom half of U.S. earners should pay no federal income tax
After all those points orders have mentioned the only thing left it is devaluations of the dollar, that’s what many have said it will be the only viable solution since now it is out of control. I’m not sure if we can do that now, spending needs to get under control before devaluation works. Either way middle class is the one getting destroyed.
ricardonunez··on Google Declaring War on the Web
Not only Reddit the company but mods can be very hostile to linking to websites as well.
ricardonunez··on Project Gutenberg – keeps getting better
I like the design but liked the previous design as well, it was unique and Craigslistish, you knew what website you were visiting just by looking at it.
ricardonunez··on Googlebook
This was going to be my response, the biggest data miner in the world doesn’t know how users are buying online? That’s a big claim
ricardonunez··on CPanel's Black Week: 3 New Vulnerabilities Patched After Attack on 44k Servers
Of course is the architecture and the creator of such a thing, isn’t the point of a tool like that for users that don’t have the tech knowledge? I have only used those systems on shared hosting, host providers are the one maintaining and should be keeping them up to date and WHM/Cpnel have plenty of customers to worry too patch holes, if they can’t then who’s fault is it, Architecture, or provider? Hope is the customers fault?
ricardonunez··on Tesla Model Y Passes NHTSA's New 'Advanced Driver Assistance System' Tests
It seems you got musked, overpromised and underdelivered.
ricardonunez··on Rumors of my death are slightly exaggerated
Op got woosh
ricardonunez··on GameStop makes $55.5B takeover offer for eBay
A quick google says 320 billion in 2025 and is projected to grow to over $535 billion by 2033. I didn't know it was that big but it makes sense. Gamestop has been all in in collectibles and eBay has a huge market on it as well. I think this is the play. Both companies being profitable doesn't make it a bad deal for the number one collectibles company in the world.
ricardonunez··on Mercedes-Benz commits to bringing back physical buttons
It doesn’t look fancier, it is just cheaper to manufacture than using the buttons and wheel.
ricardonunez··on LinkedIn scans for 6,278 extensions and encrypts the results into every request
There’s an extension called News Feed Eradicator that does that for you.
ricardonunez··on Mortgage lenders to consider rent history in mortgage applications
There are cases where people share a lease with roommates but overall I don’t see why this is not a thing. I purchased a house last year after renting for a few years, I had to provide credit and financial information but nothing about the years renting an expensive house, never missing a payment nor being late, specially for self employed people renting history has to be used.
ricardonunez··on AI singer now occupies eleven spots on iTunes singles chart
I agree. When I had my kid I stopped going to concerts because of parenting, time, etc. Last year I went to the Warped tour and discovered some new bands, it changes the whole experience and my joy for music and discovering new bands like when I was young. I have listened to some AI music as a curiosity and the only way to describe it, it is soulless.
ricardonunez··on Ask ChatGPT to pick a number from 1-10000, it generally selects from 7200-7500
I’m looking forward to the day for my AI agent to order a few dozen lava lamps to create true randomness.
ricardonunez··on Voxtral Transcribe 2
It did great English and Spanish, it didn't switch to Portuguese, french nor German, maybe struggle with my accent.
ricardonunez··on If you tax them, will they leave?
In most recent years they stopped doing part of that equation.
