ricardonunez··on If you tax them, will they leave?
In most recent years they stopped doing part of that equation.
ricardonunez··on In Europe, wind and solar overtake fossil fuels
This of what Germany needed to do and not go nuclear… on nuclear.

ricardonunez··on People who come off slimming jabs regain weight four times faster than dieters
I agree, I fast regularly and I’m fit for most of the year but comes the holidays and I don’t restrict myself which causes issues comes January, I have to train myself to regulate my appetite Ava hunger. It takes a bit and it goes back to normal by February and March but it takes some work.
ricardonunez··on Ask HN: Any Microsoft employees/devs here? What's happening to Microsoft?
I could see instead of fixing it “The Windows brand is synonym with broken software, let’s rebrand it Copilot OS”
ricardonunez··on Bose has released API docs and opened the API for its EoL SoundTouch speakers
This should be standard practice. Some companies have terrible policies around bricking their products.

When my kid was born, I bought a brand-new Snoo. After six months, I wanted to sell it since we no longer needed it. That's when I discovered stories of people whose used Snoos had been bricked by the company. For such an expensive product, that is such a waste. If I'd known about this beforehand, I never would have made the purchase in the first place.

ricardonunez··on Web Browsers have stopped blocking pop-ups
Google own products have pop ups. Ad Sense automatic ads generates pop ups. I imagine this is hundreds on millions a month, there’s no way to justify shutting this down in their new “be evil profit at all cost” motto.

How one become a wizard like that?
ricardonunez··on Hungry Fat Cells Could Someday Starve Cancer
I am testing it at the moment. I read that cortisol levels raise after 14 hours or so of no food. So I decided to eat breakfast about 13 hours to see if there's any changes on my mood. I do find it that I get less cranky. Another thing, this year during mother's day I had a huge brunch, so I didn't eat anything else that day, and it worked fine for 24 hours, the problem is that I felt in comma after eating that much which is one of the reason I stopped eating lunch, I don't like to crash; what to eat solves that partially, but I still fine some slow down after eating breakfast.
ricardonunez··on Ask HN: How do you get visibility if you're suuuuper bad at marketing?
I’m a indie developer and do marketing for my products. Build in public is a good way because building becomes the content which is the hard part. If you have an idea of your ICP, then cold outreach on LinkedIn specially if you are building and have people following you and commenting on your post. Don’t rely only in just the posts. I recently deleted every post on my linkedin with the goal of starting building in public and following this method which is the answer to your question. I belong to a paid community of very successful bootstrapped business developers and this is what the top members do, granted they are very successful and paid people to write their content which can be time consuming.

I have similar findings. I fast regularly and take cold showers. Another thing is one meal days are far easier after you do it couple of times. You don’t even think about food which is harder if you have two to three meals per day.

Edit: for those wanting to try this lifestyle, everybody is different. do your own research before jumping into regular fasting or even cold showers. Max time without food I did was 6 days, since then t it he max is 72 hours. Do blood work regularly and if you drink coffee be aware that caffeine withdraws are painful.

ricardonunez··on TailwindSQL – Like TailwindCSS, but for SQL queries in React Server components
This hilarious. Some people wouldn't know a good joke if it mugged them in an alley.
ricardonunez··on Ask HN: Is starting a personal blog still worth it in the age of AI?
If you don’t mind asking, hey long have you been doing it and How much traffic are you getting?
ricardonunez··on Sam Altman says industry is wrong on OpenAI's competition, it is not from Google
Even if the products are better people don’t switch. Google organic has been a spam cesspool for a while with a few layers on top of ads and people don’t switch. I know some people that use Bing because it is the default of windows and they don’t switch.
ricardonunez··on I failed to recreate the 1996 Space Jam website with Claude
Oh yeah, recently I had to update a newsletter design like that and older versions of outlook still didn’t render properly.

Maybe because money, it does that to people. I tend to agree.
ricardonunez··on Shoppers loved the 'fabric queen'. Then, order by order, her story fell apart
This is a crazy story.

Others insisted business simply wasn't Ms Hansen's forte. "I truly believe she wanted the best for everybody, I truly believe she wanted to be able to deliver, I truly believe she wanted to be able to pay everybody," said Sarah Rowe, an artist who used to collaborate with Ms Hansen and is not owed any money. "I really believe she had good intentions to do all those things, and I also believe business is not her jam."

She was a scammer and the empathy part was because people like her know how to manipulate people.

The group didn’t cause the issue, she was failing and the group was just the final nail that brought the issue to the public’s eye.

From another posts recently, just the fact some of the greatest minds in our planet are mostly working in advertising and trying to squeeze the most out of consumers just tell us everything. Our society is so rotten. This time of the year it gets even worst.
