rfraile··on Ask HN: Tool to export AWS configuration entirely?
I also find Terraformer.

It can dump the configuration to text files and later could be consumed by terraform.

It looks nice, I give it a try

Hard to beat Mikrotik
rfraile··on We're migrating many of our servers from Linux to FreeBSD
About network performance on 2015:

rfraile··on Do svidaniya, Igor, and thank you for Nginx
Nearly all the performance reviews between the stock Apache and Nginx at their hype time were equal to compare Word vs Notepad. An Apache installed from distribution package (with their range of enabled modules) and an Nginx compiled from source without nothing. A vanilla and good built Apache it's perfectly fine for realworld use, at the same level than Nginx, because when you are close to the limits of this pieces of software, your scalability problems are in other place.
rfraile··on Systemd, 10 years later (2020)
Any distro with s6 as default init manager?
rfraile··on AaronOS
EyeOS was developed around 15 years ago, when the internet enviroment was on the beginning of web2.0, so things were so different... Now, nearly all of those every day use programs have some sort of web application release or equivalent.

It's something like WindowsCE who tried to move the workings of the desktop to the mobile instead of a fresh interpretation of the platform like Android did at their time.

rfraile··on You don't need that CORS request
Instead of sending a request before every defined case in the CORS policy, it could be implemented requesting only one GET to a plain file (fully cacheable) with the domain policy definition.

Like robots.txt for the search engines.

rfraile··on Portmaster – Open-source network monitor and firewall
Seeing it I remember a firewall management gui that was one of the first easy and simple “firestarter”, sadly it was discontinued time ago, before Ubuntu release their “ufw”, which was very similar. Seems promising this tool.

rfraile··on FTP is 50 years old
Choosing a ftp server in 2021 is an decission between two options, bad and worse. Vsftpd is easier to setup than proftpd but it last release was 6 years ago...
rfraile··on Why the iPhone Timer app displays a fake time
Whit these issues I always remember the unix “uptime” command and their rounded precision.
rfraile··on Uptime 15,364 days – The Computers of Voyager [video]
In that subredit there are usually a lot of reports from network devices. Achieve a large uptime in a server in which the people do things all day, it's difficult.
rfraile··on Debian developer revisits FreeBSD after 20 years (2015)
Gold if you compared it with what? I think that Arch wiki is superb and have a lot of more information for the experience user than the FreeBSD manual which is excellent only for the first approach.
rfraile··on 3D Color Print
Apart - Why they use the url with the "www8." name instead of "www."?

rfraile··on Problems with Systemd and Why I Like BSD Init
Seeing the way that Linux have and comparing it with FreeBSD, I think that Linux is the best OS for developers and FreeBSD for sysadmins.
