respectattentio··on One Month Without AI
This really feels like someone in 2000s saying: "One Month Without Internet"
respectattentio··on Unreal Agent
This is so interesting.

I'm unlocking savings (in both speed and costs) but using a different way of thinking by integrating Decision models:

In short, LLMs spend so many turns on discovery, triage, and safety checks for everyday tasks. A decision model cuts those turns by preparing the relevant context before the prompt and handling the simple judgments itself, so the LLM only does the real work.

Here is the full article I published yesterday with in-house benchmark: https://tawfeks.github.io/decisionkit/

What do you think, guys? I need feedback on this.

respectattentio··on Goose Programming Language
Syntax could be improved for AI I believe. With testing, you could reduce tokens while being more accurate. This is a new language, it's worth experimenting in this and see reasoning, input, and output tokens across different tasks.
respectattentio··on Bonsai 2 27B: Near-Lossless Compression in a 9x Smaller Footprint
Never heard of Bonsai before, but that looks great and promising for local on-device inference.

Yet, seems like there is still another year for improvements.

I like local models (but not mainly using them) for offline needs.

respectattentio··on Goose Programming Language
Great launch!

I was thinking about making a language with same thoughts: Safer than C++ and faster than rust (and a 3rd thing: optimized for AI)

and you actually did it for me. Hooray!

Just the AI language optimization thing is missing..

respectattentio··on How good are frontier models at physics?
This is interesting and actually very important for robotics.

I've been waiting for this, but all companies seem to not care much now.

There is a way out of this by supplying right context (needs a bit of expertise in physics)

1 more year and frontier will become crazy good at this as well.

respectattentio··on Introducing System One Models and Jev
Seems like "some" of LLMs tasks are now Jev tasks.
respectattentio··on iOS 27, iPadOS 27, and macOS 27
Why these updates are getting so much way heavier with each release? like Xcode 10 GB and this update near 30 GB, are you kidding me?

What if I don't want that Siri AI. It should be optional.

respectattentio··on Astra and Fable still hack on simple variants of alignment evals from 2025
I'm happy to not have used any of the two models to this date. A bit less intelligent models are doing great job for me.

But because of such news, sandboxes become way more important for safety (and doing more work due to running 24/7)

respectattentio··on Trump rejects call by CEOs of Anthropic, OpenAI and xAI to slow AI down
Couldn't we just break the pause button? so it is not usable?!

Not pausing means more people knowing truths of everything faster in this world.

One of them, that I'm very excited about, is science & research.

respectattentio··on Trump rejects call by CEOs of Anthropic, OpenAI and xAI to slow AI down
This hits hard.

I believe that because AI is learning human experiences, it will help with verifiable work.

Anything that can have outcomes or metrics well defined as true success criteria will enable AI to be able to help easier than other tasks (like writing). The easier the outcomes or metrics definition needed for success in a field, the better and faster we will see AI help in those fields.

The big example is coding.

respectattentio··on Trump rejects call by CEOs of Anthropic, OpenAI and xAI to slow AI down
Interesting thought.

My view is that ASI could be created and benchmarked to know that it reached that level of intelligence.

Once we have that, we must sit to talk about abundance to define where to implement it and at what rate in full details.

It's like creating the magic tool to do anything, but we decide what to do with it.

But that is the ideal state that may seem far away, only time will tell how far it is.

I see it not that far due to this simple fact: AI is learning human experiences.

Note: this needs fully functioning robotics as well (software + hardware level intelligence).

respectattentio··on Trump rejects call by CEOs of Anthropic, OpenAI and xAI to slow AI down
A few thoughts: I support AI acceleration to reach abundance and then and only then start regulating it, not before that.

Regulating early means just delaying abundance by 5 to 10 more years or maybe more.

I don't like to build something that will become useless due to AI after a few years. Let it advance to ASI (no need to release publicly) and then let everybody think about making it safe and aligned, then release.

I'm that simple.

What do you think?

respectattentio··on How SaaS startup guys get first 100 customers first, make fkn $500k ARR fast?
Yes it does. I spent (and still spending) years developing stuff and still not have enough money out of them. Some want to kick me out of home because of it. It sucks.

But you never knew when your efforts compound, and that's the point.

Keep up the good work. No. Matter. What.

respectattentio··on Will There Be a 7G?
Yes, why working on something that "may" be beneficial in the far future? This is like inventing a 128-bit CPU architecture. Nobody would be able to utilize like even 1% of that, even with AI.
respectattentio··on How SaaS startup guys get first 100 customers first, make fkn $500k ARR fast?
How much you want? $1M? $10M?

I could easily give you that title. Or maybe you can even do that yourself.

Lots of new companies are either faked, or amplified.

Example: If I made a sale of $100 this hour, it can become $864K ARR, with amplification (100 x 24 x 30 x 12).

What to do? Focus on your job and forget everybody else. Don't ever judge progress by revenue alone. A low revenue company who invents something in energy could be worth all companies exist today. But you never hear about it, because it is the real stuff.

respectattentio··on Will There Be a 7G?
The right question:

Will 7G be needed?

I say no for the next 15 years. Because there are 1425235 other things that are way much important than this.

respectattentio··on Show HN: Mercator vs. UN's new Equal Earth map, synced side by side
UN voted and when I tried to find the new map next to the old map side by side, I found none. I just wished for one.

So I gave my wish to myself and to you all like me who want to play around and see the comparisons of countries in both UN world maps.

This actually took way more work than I expected to make it this smooth and dual synced without issues on all devices.

Let me know if you like it, and specifically, if you have some feedback, please share it. I really appreciate it.

Made with love from someone on the maps somewhere.

respectattentio··on Rust is tier-1 language at Microsoft
I don't know why I feel the entire software world is going to switch to Rust (more than the others), C++, and Assembly soon.

Especially after the successful Bun 1.4 runtime migration to Rust.

respectattentio··on The UN challenges five centuries of cartography
If anyone wants to see it: Africa vs Greenland on the old UN world map side by side with the new one

https://newworldsize.com/old-vs-new/compare/africa-vs-greenl...

respectattentio··on The UN challenges five centuries of cartography
I didn't meant it is a mistake as a projection but as a choice adopted for everywhere you look.
respectattentio··on The UN challenges five centuries of cartography
Never knew that and millions are so.

Why?

Because it is not used just for marine navigation. It is mostly used for everything related to maps and apps with maps.

respectattentio··on The UN challenges five centuries of cartography
How it is not a mistake? Because as you see, old map is everywhere and is used for everything.

Just open Google Maps and see.

It's not fair to make a false map a standard being used for everything.

respectattentio··on The UN challenges five centuries of cartography
I don't think so. They usually don't use what has not been agreed on officially.
respectattentio··on The UN challenges five centuries of cartography
It is insane how the big mistake lasted. After seeing each country before and after side by side on a website, it's insane how big the difference in false sizes of countries compared.

Like Greenland vs Africa, come on man!! This must be a joke (and still lasted 457 years).

respectattentio··on The UN challenges five centuries of cartography
It actually shrank a bit in size (especially Alaska).

This is side by side comparison (old vs new map):

respectattentio··on Terminal-Bench-Science: Evaluating AI agents on scientific research workflows
Like you were reading my mind. I was waiting for such benchmark to land. This will improve models for such scientific research workflows.

AI should have started with science from the beginning, not after 4 years.

I am building on top of it with agents to improve scientific workflows.

respectattentio··on CEO fired developers to make room for AI. Developers create open source AI CEO
After firing all, when CEO can fire themselves to be just founders?

This will be epic.

respectattentio··on Qwen3.8-Flash-Next
I can't imagine the future any more. US companies playing it safe and control models releases. Chinese companies are just like open source everything.

It's like Chinese are incentivized to open source from day one (years ago). While most US companies are deciding in realtime.

It's crazy that we need both to survive and advance further in the future we have never imagined.

respectattentio··on RAG Is Simpler Than You Think
The only difference is using LLMs instead of Embedding models
