remirk··on Using Matrix to replace proprietary and centralized chat apps
In what way is it not federated like e-mail?

> or I will forever be stuck on one other guys server, right

This is valid criticism at the moment. There is work being allocated on fixing this issue, with multiple protocol drafts, but it might take a year a two before you can finally transfer accounts between servers.

remirk··on Using Matrix to replace proprietary and centralized chat apps
> Bullshit

That's quite a harsh statement.

Are you saying that just because there's a centralised optional service for mapping Matrix IDs to phone numbers means that Matrix itself is centralised?

Unfortunately the site doesn't let me read the post until I login or disable 'my adblocker', which I don't have enabled.
remirk··on Using all-Apple Thunderbolt hardware to kill my MacBook
That's not a good comparison. 'kill' has that meaning in the context of OS processes, while the title talks about MacBook as being a hardware product.

Killing hardware has a very different meaning generally.

> "She needs to be protected. She's not a real adult like I am. I, as a real adult, will decide for those who I consider aren't real adults."

I don't see the similarity between that, and what was actually say. It seems you are making assumptions and taking it way out of context.

I think it's perfectly reasonable to use "she didn't grew up with complicated electronics" as an argument for why it's hard to learn using it.

You cannot expect people who aren't used to certain things, to pick up those skills as easily as people who do have prior experience.

That doesn't make sense.
