I still think they're one slip up away from disappearing, but I've got to give them credit for building the way they did.
1. the telephone number system is terrible (but only in hindsight) 2. a telephone number should not be used for security
But his premise of a DNS for phone numbers is ridiculous. Does he think the PSTN was invented when smartphones came out? What about the wide plethora of legacy phones that would cause countless issues?
If someone did manage to complete he herculean (if not impossible) task of making it happen, it would be a massive waste; the PSTN will become obsolete in the not so distant future as internet based solutions take over.
And the article highlighting similarities between the Holocaust and the Syrian civil war is sickening.
1. In the Holocaust, Jews were being hunted down and killed for no reason other than the fact that they were Jewish. Asad is murdering his own subjects indiscriminately. Are we supposed to just take in the entire Syrian country? I don't think he's purposely targeting Sunnis over Shiites or vice-a-versa (although I may be wrong in this regard) 2. There was no reason not to take Jews in. They don't have a publicly declared, religously mandated doctrine of hate for the West (especially the USA), or come from a society that is completely incompatible with Western society. I'm not saying every Muslim is like that, but even 10% of 2 billion is a lot...

End of the story is trust no one, make your own backup of the data, and verify for yourself if anything has changed in the future.
Java has been my go-to language for a while. After taking 3-4 days to learn Kotlin earlier this year, I'm thinking my default is gonna be to use Kotlin. It's very nice.
Although, to be technical it was a Moto Z Force Droid Edition...
How is it that no one has made a worthy successor to the OG Turbo. That was a monster of a phone across the board.
I'm about to order one, and sent a link to about 10 friends. Good job!
"the documentation describes the API in TypeScript, and then provides no examples at all! So the average JavaScripter can’t understand what the API looks like"
And:
"Add into the mix the way the documentation casually drifts into hard-core Computer Science and algorithmic discussions at inappropriate places, and you’re left with documentation that only the documentation’s auto-generator understands.
Don’t believe me? Just see this example describing Map, one of the most-used Immutable data structures:
Immutable Map is an unordered Iterable.Keyed of (key, value) pairs with O(log32 N) gets and O(log32 N) persistent sets.
OK. Er, of course it is."
If you don't know what you're doing, and you just want to know how to do it, everyone ends up suffering. And I don't know much about Typescript, but isn't it javascript with types? If the average javascripter can't figure out what's going on there...
I told them that they had 24 hours to pay me and acknowledge my work, or I'd put porn on their landing page. 24.5 hours later I got paid.
At the end of the day, rules were broken. If you can't handle the repercussions then don't break the rules. Pretty simple.
