Inspirational analogy. I also looked at it that way as a test to ensure they were getting someone who really wanted to be part of their team and not just a job. I contrasted to the end in Willy Wonka. A test of rejection and how you would handle it.

It's an internal recuiter for the company. Now given what I've heard so far it's starting to feel like rain on my parade. I haven't yet submitted my acceptance in writing yet. But I really want this job.

I had first thought the same. But within 15 minutes of my email? If a candidate was second choice wouldn't you wait till they accepted if you were going to go choice two? This isn't a FANG company but is a well funded tech startup that's been around for 9 years. What's a "ghost"?
